When people talk about capitalism driving efficiency it rings hollow because we had a functioning, efficient video sharing site but now it's been deliberately made worse and the old experience is being sold back to us. The system that does this repeatedly is not an efficient way of increasing QOL.

It seems like YouTube ads these days are less about being advertising a product to increase the sales of that product and more about being as unpleasant as possible to drive the sales of YouTube premium. It seems like they go out of their way to find scams and AI garbage to worsen user experience.

I dream of a future where people look at gambling ads the same way we look at cigarette ads today.

If you replace the cheese curds with shredded cheese, even if it's still gravy and fries that's cheese fries with gravy. You can change the sauce or the type of fried potato but the cheese curds define poutine.

My outrageous hot take is that cheese curds are the defining factor of a poutine. If you switch the fries out for tater tots or the gravy out for marinara or curry or any other sauce you can call it "tater tot poutine" or "Marinara Poutine".
