Not only an incredible talent, but a rare talent who also thought it was funny to just voice random memes every once in a while

Unbelievable loss. An amazing talent, and just a really, really good person. www.instagram.com/p/De8RFy4pyov/

He was very good in person with his trans fans too. Growing up going to SF cons, I met many trans people before I even knew what trans meant. I gave my parents very little they needed to accept in their child, so they had lots left over for everyone else. 😉 www.thepinknews.com/2021/08/06/t...

I want this to be a way for some of my favourite people in the found footage horror space to have free reign to do whatever they want in this playground, preferably with lots of practical creature effects and puppets!

@jamesbluecat.bsky.social Just finished Pagans! Really enjoyed the alternate History and the plot growing from it. I have one question I wondered about. The book keeps mentioning the characters eating variables of potatoes, but America is never mentioned... What is the situation across the pond?

"Das Buch" by Wolfgang Hohlbein. I was an quick Reader and my hunger for more lured me into the adult horror/fantasy shelves...

Discoverability for new SFF books seems way down these days, especially outside of bestsellers and certain subgenres. I'm noticing this as both a reader and a writer. Great stuff is in danger of sinking without a trace. Please post about new/recent books you love or are excited for!!! I'll start:

As a reminder! Anxiety Fox is 100% human made by a very anxious human who tries to spread happiness through doodles. I never use AI to generate content and never will! ❤️ You all deserve my authentic self, even all the messy parts.

I never thought I'd be laughed at for saying I bookmark stuff on my phone for quick reference and use wikipedia daily for looking up stuff that interests me, but today, at work, I was. Imagine life never having gone down a wiki rabbit-hole. How utterly dull.

Hey everyone, it's been awhile. I promise this is not bad news and I don't want to scare any of you with a wordy text with a black background. But I still want to leave a message to everyone. Short version, I'm okay and I'm very sorry about my sudden silence.

The Facial Expressions of Tethys by artist Julius von Bismarck. A suspended high-sea buoy that moves in real time. Sensors on a twin buoy out in the Atlantic Ocean send live satellite data to motors inside the museum. This makes the indoor buoy copy the exact, real-time movements of the ocean waves.

Elsewhere on Bluesky folks are noting that The Kids These Days aren't much into Douglas Adams. As someone who is much into Douglas Adams (and in fact wrote an intro to new edition of his works) allow me to remind folks that it's not actually surprising when The Kids aren't into decades-old stuff.

If you want to look to find the bit of science fiction culture of today that is likely most similar to the slot that Hitchhiker's fit into in the 80s, I might suggest Dungeon Crawler Carl to you. It's NOT a 1:1 fit, so settle down, but for humor/absurdity/weird melancholy, it's in the neighborhood.

Look, intellectually I understand there are situations that call for unsalted butter instead of salted butter, but emotionally there is never a time I want to be in one of those situations.

Mike McFarland was so tremendously talented and passionate about his work. If he was directing, you knew you were getting a quality English dub. Most importantly, he was a beloved friend to so many of his peers. I appreciate how generous and giving he was to our little podcast. You will be missed.

Mike McFarland has passed away at 56 after a long battle with cancer. Among his many beloved roles, he voiced Buggy, and he also served as ADR director on a good number of English-dubbed One Piece episodes. May he rest in peace 💐🕊️✖️
