this time of year brings a mix of emotions, i know. i hope this season, whatever you celebrate or may be struggling through, brings you a bit of peace somewhere. this may be a message for you. maybe just give it a call. 216-361-6772.

This is deeply soothing to watch. Not sure why

It's so calming to me - watching these mazes grow and transform. vel += force * dt; pos += vel * dt; vel *= damping; Even simple physics can make your line feel like it has intentions. #Unity #gamedev #procedural #algorithmart #solodev #indiegame

Just really awesome how our financial elite just spent the last several decades admonishing people for pursing the humanities and creative fields, and are now suddenly pedaling the idea that "there are no good ideas anymore" after spending the last 5 years laying off everybody with a brain

When Rob Reiner was on his all-time epic run at the start of his career, he had an opportunity to read a script that was looking for a production partner, and he lost his mind for it. He decided Castle Rock had to have it, no matter what.

This edition of BLACK STONE HEART is seriously one of the most beautiful things on my shelves. The writing and story itself is (obviously) fantastic. The binding is gorgeous. The typeset and pages are gorgeous. The art is gorgeous, and there's even an insane fold-out map.

I had a long talk with someone yesterday about how all prior logic and norms about the labor market have been called off because capital is in the final push to finally casualize white collar workers the way they’ve long wanted to do. From AI to non-competes to this. They smell blood in the water.

"Last month marked the third time since 2008 that layoffs in November exceeded 70,000, with the other two times being in 2008 and 2022." @paigemcglauflin.bsky.social reports. www.hr-brew.com/stories/2025...

Wild, but me and my friend group just rewatched Johnny Tsunami on a lark a couple of days ago. For a made for TV Disney movie from the late 90s, it held up remarkably well. Tagawa steals every scene he's in.

Rest In Peace to the great Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa (seen here in License to Kill)

I discovered Koja this year, and the extent to which the experience of reading her books has run roughshod over everything else in what has been one of the best reading years of my life is truly astounding.

You're going to want Kathe's book. As a friend said the first time they handed me a Cormac McCarthy novel, "Don't ask questions. Just read it."

Seven Psychopaths Inception Arrival Inglorius Basterds Sicario Little Miss Sunshine Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri The Dark Knight LOTR trilogy

As people keep positing their top 10 movies of the 21st century, here’s mine (in no particular order): The Wolf of Wall Street Sinners Inception Shaun of the Dead Mad Max: Fury Road The Children of Men The Dark Knight Kill Bill Vols 1 & 2 Lord of the Rings trilogy The Shape of Water

The real question is not "Why is Bluesky so left-coded," the real question is "Why can't the right exist in a social media environment without algorithmic assistance, where people can ignore them"

Truly one of the GOATs Hard to overstate the impact his writing made on me. Rest easy.

I cannot overstate how happy it makes me that @kenwhite.bsky.social is a First Law fan. Also, very jealous of the whole, experiencing the magic of Pacey's narration for the first time, thing

Popehat@kenwhite.bsky.social

At the recommendation of someone here I started listening to the audiobooks of @joeabercrombie.com’s First Law series because narrator Steven Pacey is so good. Holy shit that was an understatement. The narrating skill is absolutely next-level. /1

There are still 37 working days left in 2025 - 58 days total. There's still plenty of time to hit that writing goal & finish that script or book. 3 pages a day - just 750 words a weekday - and you can write a complete script. 4 pages a day - 1000 wds a day - and you can write a novel. You got this.
