Back in 2002, these yields were trending down meaning investors were predicting falling inflation, they were right. Now these yields are trending up meaning investors are predicting rising inflation; let's hope they are wrong this time, but I doubt it.

Nearly eight months into a war that has destabilized the global energy system, the average price of gas during Trump's second term is now more expensive than it was during the Biden era, according to a CNN analysis of AAA data. https://cnn.it/4iExHpf

Makes me wonder if polls and gamblers are underestimating progressives this year…

Musk, the compulsive liar, is yet again caught lying. Even as he confesses, he has so many strawman arguments, wordplays, and virtue signals in it that it isn't entirely clear what he has confessed to or what will prevent him from doing this again. What is clear is he hates western democracies.

The safe haven move into bonds is a function of risk aversion linked to cash flow & debt risk inside the AI ecosystem & not an ebbing of inflation concerns. Another round of fighting in the Middle East will only cause the price of oil, gasoline, diesel & jet fuel to move higher. #Econ #EconSky

Real average hourly earnings are officially down 0.7% on the month, per Bloomberg. That's the sixth straight month of decline.

This is why the GOP loses big in November. Inflation caused by war, tariffs, and more government debt for wealthy tax cuts.

🚨 BREAKING: Inflation comes in HOT. September inflation surged to 3.7% year over year, with core inflation also exceeding forecasts. Prices jumped 0.6% in just ONE MONTH. Meanwhile, real earnings fell 0.5% in September.

I don’t care how much the GOP spends on political advertising, inflation remains the number 1 issue and voters know Trump and his GOP puppets in congress caused it.

I keep close tabs on my spending as I'm retired. My personal inflation rate is 8.5% this year. This is the worst I have experienced; yes worse than even 2022. I'm sure others are also feeling the burden. Voters who care about inflation won't be voting Republican in November. #inflation #election

Fun fact: The last time the S&P 500 was this close to a record (-0.44%) with fewer of its members above their 200-day moving averages (51.2%)? March 27, 2000, the day after the index put in its dot com bubble closing peak! (-0.24% with just 34.1% of members above the 200-day).

It is worth mentioning the Top 10% rule in TX is a racial quota proxy with the claim it helps Hispanic & Black American enrollment but in reality that hasn’t been much help. Instead the biggest impact is helping white enrollment at the expense of Asian Americans. This is why the TX GOP supports it.

Trump could have had lower rates if he hadn’t: 1) started a war 2) added tariffs 3) increased gov debt to fund tax cuts

The obvious question is: why is inflation high? The answer is simple; Trump caused it. He first increased deficit borrowing by cutting taxes on the wealthy, then he increased prices directly with tariffs & government overreach, and lastly he started a war which severely impacted world oil supply.

CNBC@cnbc.com

The Fed approved its first interest rate hike in more than three years and indicated another to come, as part of an effort aimed at combating inflation brought on by spiraling oil prices and other factors. Read more: cnb.cx/4xXLpJ4
