I remember seeing photos of the day. The joy in those still images was palpable. You all clearly loved each other, and it was heartwarming and inspiring. I'm sad to see him go, and for the weight we all feel for his passing.

My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

The fact that he was 90 and had a good run takes some of the edge of how devastating this news is. I did scream aloud when I learned of it, I will say that. abcnews.com/GMA/Culture/...

Walter was a brightly shining light too few people could see in full luminescence. Rest In Piece, Mr. Koenig.

This is why mega-corporations shouldn't be in control of popular media. Suddenly, it's not about what WE want to see, but about what THEY want to show us, as dictated by the CEO's agenda, defined by their political allegiances. Star Trek. Mass Effect. What's next?

I observe it too. From the outside. He sees it from the inside first hand.

So Ilhan could use "Omar" (grandfather's first name) or a family/tribal name as a last name, interchangeably. She'd also have the same "middle names" as her other siblings. All this is normal. Likewise, Abdul El Sayed is not "hiding" his middle name bc he doesn't have one. Mahamed is his dad's name
