And good luck finding businesses to offer meaningful work experience to hundreds of thousands of 14 and 15 year olds. As ever a failure to acknowledge that our big challenge with vocational ed is our labour market.
Don’t worry, I’m sure they’ve thought through how this will be staffed, funded, and the class size implications for GCSE options. They learned that from the last time, right? RIGHT? www.tes.com/magazine/new...
Tell me you’ve never been to the People’s Republic of China without telling me you’ve never been to the People’s Republic of China.
Honestly if China was invading that would great. The best railway in the world, Healthcare is affordable, Housing that gets built, 9 of the 10 best Universities in the world, the fastest advancing country... And so much more. While the West decays under billionaires GREED.

Will would have soared to great heights in the USSR.
Yes there is. If you were a lawyer or in some other advisory position and someone came to you with this question there is a correct answer, for almost every conceivable personal situation. I’m sorry if it’s not the one you would pick but that’s why we train people to think about things like this.

This is why progressives are so bad at making policies that are popular: the inability to see the difference between theoretical outcome and practical implementation.
The circumstances in which the answer would change are so rare and dire that there is only a very tiny population to which it applies - basically people at risk of imminent death or injury and completely bereft of any resources, including public subsidy.

Social media algorithms are slowly (then rapidly) giving birth to new ideologies. This combination of militarism, UFOs, Christian fundamentalism, and right-wing politics would be obscure without the internet. It's going to get even crazier when they invent a right wing AI to worship.

Interesting: There’s now an anonymous, moderated list of companies that stop responding after you interviewed with them
No-one is making this claim. The claim is that taking the £50k, for very many people a life-changing sum of money, is the rational choice.
What’s been maddening about this discourse is how people are seeing clear and straightforward example of those common biases cropping up, and rather saying “Oh yes it is as the research says it is,” have come up with elaborate defenses of people as perfectly rational, self-interested agents.

This is a totally surreal moment in the Epstein scandal. They win the top award for exposing a pedophile, then have to shake hands with said pedophile.
Remarkable camera angle of President Trump as he listens to Wall Street Journal reporters receiving an award for their investigation into Trump’s relationship with Jeffrey Epstein — which they pursued despite Trump’s threats and lawsuit.
If you know anything about the law you know the correct answer is to continue to negotiate and settle for the best deal you can get, which will be more than $50k, on the courthouse steps before a trial starts.
It’s funny how all the people who have spent the last two days smugly tweeting at me how OBVIOUS it was that taking $50k instead of gambling 50/50 on a million was a good choice have become, when presented with this hypothetical, become extremely interested in irrelevant details about jurisdiction
