ah, so that's why Trump is getting bent out of shape about the Alaska Senate race:
JUST POSTED: A Russian energy giant has secretly moved to acquire a position in a massive Alaska gas project. Its part of talks between Witkoff/Kushner & Putin. But CEO of US company resigns after learning of Russian money in the project. A wowzer of a story. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/23/u...

The enslaved person in the fields who sang the songs their mother brought from a homeland they would never see. The political prisoner who smuggled in writing materials to tell their story to the world. The unhoused artist leaving their mark on the urban landscape specifically built to exclude them.

I will not accept an argument that art and creativity have been uniquely democratised in the last few years since the invention of genAI. What a disservice to human history. How little regard you must have for the billions of souls that struggled through unimaginable suffering to express themselves.

I once witnessed up close a man try to murder protesting children with his car in broad daylight. The expression of cold, determined rage is still haunting. You don’t do something like this by accident but our passive language around car violence allows the perpetrator and media to play dumb.

What happens when that company goes bankrupt after the tariffs are rule illegal again? Do they sell that private data to other companies? Incorporate their AI into some other AI? Every item you purchase from overseas is going to become part of that black box, and who knows who that data goes to?

Everyone seems not to know about it. It's crazy. Like do you really want to get entered into an AI black box along with photos of all your purchases? By some unknown 3rd part for profit company? That works hand-in-hand with the government? Red flag after red flag here, and everyone is sleepwalking.

The US seems to be funneling ALL international parcels through a handful of 3rd party AI apps that you have to pay to use. It feels very scammy, and I wonder if citizens know that everything they order online is now required to be photographed and fed into LLMs... It's a huge red flag.

Ohio Republican governor candidate Vivek Ramaswamy is so desperate for power that he's willing to exploit a family tragedy in which his opponent was raped as a child.
Two thoughts: This false, despicable ad is proof that Vivek Ramaswamy knows he is about to lose to Amy Acton. No mother who loves her daughter would do this. Her complicity reveals her.

rioting and looting let other proles know you're serious, that you're actually about fighting for something real. Yes, middle class ppl and non-profit activists will be very upset and will very loudly scold you for ruining the movement, which is to say, the movement they can control and profit from

The only reason folks are talking about the French uprisings, ongoing for over a month, is because they escalated to rioting. The idea that that rioting and property destruction are bad for movement perception is just false, even if your goal is something as impoverished as media attention

My mom was diagnosed with cancer and it killed her within 2 months. It took every single member of my family to spend nearly every cent we had just to make sure my step father wasn't left homeless after everything was said and done. This was *with* insurance.
42% of Americans with cancer deplete their life savings within two years. Breaking Bad was a documentary

i am a one-issue kinda guy, in terms of my historic and current political support, and that issue is besieging and sacking Constantinople. not out of any enmity with its people, or even government, but because that city was MADE to be encircled with trebuchets and cannon. Just LOOK at it.
