New conspiracy theory: People acquiescing to Trump's preferred term, Super Intelligence, will increase demand for Slovenia's .si domains. Melania is Slovenian. You figure out the rest.

"At 2:24 p.m., officers received information that a man who had been shot was calling and requesting help in the area of Northeast 146th Avenue and East Burnside. Officers responded and found a male and female with apparent gunshot wounds." Again, not only did CPB shoot, but they didn't help.

Forget the 3 AM phone call. Is he ready for the call at 3 PM?

“.. A Washington Post analysis of multiple video feeds of the meeting Tuesday showed that during nine separate instances, Trump’s eyes were closed for extended periods or he appeared to struggle to keep them open, amounting cumulatively to nearly six minutes.” www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

The way I look at American political structure: the system is built for two parties. If you aren't in one of the parties, you're essentially irrelevant. So the only practical move is to make one of them work more like you want it to. The Tea Party et al did this and then some with the Republicans.

Calling an assurance that someone who isn't involved in the negotiations will follow the law isn't anything to be proud of. It codifies that whether or not the law needs to be followed is up for negotiation. This is terrifying precedent of the Dems' making.

My statement on the funding deal to reopen government, protect federal employees, and vote to protect health care:

Given the increasing likelihood of Thanksgiving travel chaos, I wonder if anyone's setting up an exchange for people to trade/resell non-refundable hotel reservations so people can switch to driving-distance excursions.

Evita Solutions? Don't cry for me, mifepristone!

Drugmaker Evita Solutions announced on its website that the Food and Drug Administration signed off on its low-cost form of the pill, which is approved to end pregnancies through 10 weeks.

Car insurance renewal notice just came. Lemonade breaks out the price per car: 2013 Toyota Prius is going up ~20%, both for base rate and per-mile cost 2018 Chrysler Pacific base rate is going up ~10% but the per-mile cost is going down a tenth of a penny This is due to tariffs, right?

Shorter NYT non-endorsement: one guy thinks bureaucrats should be selling tomatoes, the other guy resigned in disgrace for being a sex creep. We can't recommend either but we think the sex creep is probably better.

He's even capitalizing the nouns to make it sound more like the original German.

Trump declares war on cities “We must expand efforts to detain & deport Illegal Aliens in America’s largest Cities, such as LA, Chicago, & NY, where Millions of Illegal Aliens reside. These, & other Cities, are core of the Dem Power Center, where they use Illegal Aliens to expand their Voter Base”

I find it very helpful to think of the US as having space for two parties. Who occupies each space is what it's all about. Look at how the GOP has been transformed in the past 15 or so years. It's the Dems' turn next. Before it's too late.

In light of Mamdani's performance, is astonishing there aren't more insurgent primary campaigns. Democratic establishment is discredited. Power is just sitting there like a mountain of gold but instead of being guarded by a fire-breathing dragon, it's fossils like Chuck Schumer
