Lula has been reelected president, Brazilian media has now called. An extraordinary comeback for the left-wing politician who trailed by 2 points in round 1 but managed to hold off Flávio Bolsonaro, the former president's son.

Today I was supposed to be up in Springfield playing a chamber concert, but plans change unexpectedly. As such, I'm thankful that voting early is an option so that I can use my newfound free time to make sure my voice is heard. Go vote!

Y'all should tune in and support Starlight- if you do you might see a certain someone 👀

It's October, and you know what that means... watch out for Spooky Bands playing in the woods! Inspired by the charm of Link's Awakening and the absurdly captivating trend of filming black metal videos in the woods, our music video for "You're Lost" from Link's Awakening is our tribute to both.

Last weekend, I played Can(n)ons of Freedom by Chris Brubeck with the Waterbury Symphony Orchestra. It had the most melodic chimes part I've ever read! All those years of video games prepared me for balancing looking at the music, the conductor, and the instrument at the same time.

I try to be serious, I really do. Some new press photos taken earlier this year, courtesy of Jim Henkel and the Hartford Symphony Orchestra!

I appreciate that there's a TV at the gym that just shows nature stuff instead of sports but I really wish the programming deviated from depicting spiders, predators eating carcasses, and pets having surgery

It was bound to happen to me sooner or later. Music academia, autocorrect is not your friend.

Endings can be hard, especially in an improvisational setting. Luckily Math is here to let us know about that One Weird Trick that THEY don't want you to know about! #vgm #fusion #funk #livestream #phoenixwrightaceattorney #bminor #doctorshatehim

Happy belated birthday, immune system 💉

When I got back into working out a few years ago, I told myself that when I turned 40 I wanted to be able to say that I was in the best shape of my life. At 39, I'm not quite there yet, but I'm feeling pretty motivated! (Anyway, I can't wait to eat like 500 Burgers later)

If I've learned anything playing video game music on Twitch, it's that the soundtracks to obscure sports games for 8 and 16-bit consoles always go way harder than they should. Tune into #MarimbaMonday at 7pm ET on Twitch! #twitch #streamer #videogamemusic #percussion

Don't tell me you forgot about our merch! It's okay if you did, I forgive you... as long as you visit our Bandcamp page!

Don't flatten out! Playing marimba with Stevens grip isn't like the cross grips, and it really matters when it comes to interval changes. #marimba #education #technique

The process of a Discocactus arrangement is wildly varied between all of us; luckily for you, we love talking about it! Laura talks more about inspiration, structure, and what it was like to work with our collaborators on our newest track, Une Vie a T'aimer!

Stream schedule for this week--and for the forseeable future! Now that school is back in session, I'll be going back to streaming consistently on Mondays at 7pm ET for Marimba Monday. An impromptu stream later in the week isn't impossible, but we won't count on anything for now. See you Monday!

School starts tomorrow

We heard from some VIP (Very Important Pfans) that there's more interest in some behind-the-scenes footage of our arrangements. Well, to kick that off, we have our arranger Laura and our resident low end expert Sam to talk about the inspiration for Alicia!
