China installed 61GW of wind and 111GW of solar power in Jan-Sep. Wind tracks last year's record pace, while solar is down from that but tracks 2023 which saw a respectable 200GW added. With energy demand growth slowing, clean energy has a good shot at covering all demand growth.

Last year, the IEA brought back the CPS (current policies) scenario into their World Energy Outlook after discontinuing it in 2020. It expects India's EV share of car sales to reach 5% in 2035. That's right...2035! September 2026 was already over 8%. CPS can retire again.

What most people don't know: when you fill up a petrol car most of the energy never moves it. Petrol car: 13–21% of the crude oil's energy reaches wheels. Electric car on today's UK grid: 43–45%. Electric car on wind+solar: 77–80%. That's why we don't need to replace fossil energy one for one.
