Make stuff. For the love of all that there is, please just keep making stuff! Doesn't matter if it's bad, good etc. Just *keep* making stuff.

Praise be the Omnissiah!

Data centers promise jobs but hire few people That's why I propose a law that every data center must hire 1,000 Priests of Data to worship the computers, pray to the servers, light candles, etc. The priests will boost the local economy and fill the air with the sweet sound of their Gregorian chants

It's fascinating that we're going to have three* interpretations of Robocop now, each one reflecting the public's fear and apprehension about corporations, but the shape of the corporation changes with each iteration.

RoboCop is coming back online with a new TV series at Prime Video. Dan Stevens will play RoboCop. James Wan produces. A tech conglomerate convinces the city to place a powerful robot on its police force – a robot implanted with the consciousness of a fallen officer.

And now this one seems to be riding the wave of well earned animosity against big tech companies. I'm a huge Dan Stephens fan so I'm low key rooting for it and we'll see how well it does.

In the 80s it was GE style omnicorps taking advantage of urban decay through the fall of federal funding, plus a hefty dose of union bashing (albeit a cop union)

Sure. The problem with using "AI" at any point in the book production process is that people will think you'll use "AI" at any point in the process. When I learned about my "AI" cover I apologized, made it a contract point it couldn't be used again, and donated to an arts org helping young artists.

(*me trying to force someone to put on the One Ring*) Oh my God, it's just a TOOL. It only goes bad for people who don't know what they're doing! Oh, you think Sauron destroying the land is bad? Digging up hobbit holes is way worse for the environment. It's actually classist you won't put it on.

Pretty sure this is how modern day liches are created, their soul locked forever away in phylactries of cheap plastic and beady black eyes.

the dollar cost of turning yourself into a funko pop isn't very high but it's hard to measure in currency the toll it takes on your immortal soul to have it removed from your fleshy body and preserved for eternity in a plastic doll

On this Trans Day of Visibility, I would just like to say that trans rights are human rights and that celebrating the trans community as a part of all communities enriches every one of us.

"I avoid politics." No bestie, you avoid uncomfortable conversations about politics. From the moment you were born til the day you die, you've been thoroughly and utterly enmeshed in the policies, systems, and governance of a society that shapes your experience. You just try not to think about it.

I think with the level of venom with which AI proponents have treated artists, writers, musicians, whole creative industries, they deserve at the very least to have that venom met in kind, and I hope it stings. I'm only sorry it hasn't happened sooner. Party's over, enjoy the hangover.

okay so AI is absolutely cratering imminently and I need all of you to PROMISE me you won't take the high road, and will laugh and rub it in their faces as much as possible. I need you to laugh and go 'WE TOLD YOU SO, BITCH" at every opportunity, PLEASE be extremely mean and ruthless

Amidst all the crazy shit going on in the world for some reason this is the one that is annoying me today: It's not gonna be a Firefly reboot or restart. Almost all of those actors have current acting commitments that take up most of their working time.

It's going to be a reunion show, like they did with Friends a few years ago, with all the cast (or most of them) sitting on a couch, reminiscing about how great the show was and how much they treasure it. Will probably air on Hulu/Disney + , will probably be around 90 minutes or so.

We don't need to re-litigate if liking a Joss Whedon show makes you a bad person, or if tropes that were in a show that aired 25 years ago are problematic today. If you're incapable of holding a nuance now is a great time to go outside and talk to real people who aren't online 100% of the time.

The success of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms just proves that, while I would love for GRRM to finish Winds of Winter, what I'm really looking forward to is more Dunk and Egg novellas.

Abolish ICE. There’s no reforming it. There’s no compromise. There’s only one way to rein in ICE’s terror campaign. Abolish it.

Transphobia is a cancer of the heart and mind. It is a useless fear, based on ignorance and cruelty. Trans people are not responsible for a single one of the problems we face. Do the world a favor and grow the fuck up.

A reminder that this anti-trans panic is 100% bullshit and exactly none of our country’s problems are related to someone expressing their gender identity and everyone who isn’t a hate-filled weirdo knows it.
