What if Navarro looked at the jobs numbers before they were “corrected “. Can we trust this administration?

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Peter Navarro: "The jobs report comes out tomorrow. We have to revise our expectations down significantly for what a monthly job number should look like ... Wall Street has to adjust for the fact that we're deporting millions of illegals out of the job market."

NEW: The Atlantic reports Greg Bovino has been REMOVED from his role as Border Patrol “Commander at Large” and will return to his former job in El Centro, California, where he is expected to retire soon. DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and “adviser” Corey Lewandowski are at risk of losing their jobs.

It will be important to keep track of what we used to have and how it all used to work. And how badly it used to work and how much was needed to fix that - because the mess that's coming is going to be soooo bad it will be hard to imagine a way out of it.

Yes … what have we become?

Went to a Rep. Jamie Raskin event last night. He was witty and uplifting, despite a lack of sleep. On Washington DC: “ it’s not the heat. It’s the stupidity.” The Supreme Court majority: “they are fingerpainting on the Constitution.”

The undocumented have become tightly woven into our communities. Mass deportations of law abiding and hard-working people are inhumane and will make us all poorer.

I used to say “the three legged stool of conservatism” collapsed during the Bush years with neo-, fiscal, and social conservatism all discredited by, in order: the Iraq War, the financial crisis, and Will and Grace (used as a broad synedoche for the integration of out gay people into public life).

I just re-read the full Declaration of Independence. It's the most illuminating and depressing thing I've read in a while. Highly recommend folks give it a read. Many — if not most — of the complaints levied against King George are indistinguishable from those brought against President Trump today.

Received a random copy of the CATO Institute magazine in the mail. After a thoroughly reasonable piece on the flaws of prosecutorial manipulation of juries, they follow with a proud piece on their role in guiding DOGE. Libertarianism can be alluring, but on closer examination, it always sucks.

Surely we are in a constitutional crisis. The Trump administration seems to have disobeyed two court orders in the last 48 hours, both involving immigration. I know some people think it will only be a crisis when they ignore the Supreme Court. What do you think?

Remember all the platitudes about how they aren't anti-immigration, they just want people to come the "right" way? It was a lie, it was always a lie, and coming after green card holders is the final proof that it's a lie.

NYT columnist Jamelle Bouie really captures Trump: “His every executive function exists to satisfy his ego. He is a covetous person consumed by an insatiable desire for acquisition, a man who seems to take the seven deadly sins as a seven-day challenge.”

Orange looks at smaller countries the same way Big Business looks at smaller businesses. They are just competitors to be defeated and acquired. The goal is to eliminate competition. There are no allies. If I were a smaller country I would see him as a serious threat to independence and sovereignty.

I was at my neurologist’s office today. He works with a big teaching hospital. They were ready to start phase 3 trials on a very promising Parkinson’s therapy but the NIH contribution and the trials are now very much in doubt.
