Yes it is wild how much of the internet security has been cracked open lately but Bruno is right. If it really was as simple as they claim, bad actors would have already demolished the internet in its entirety.

Bruno Dies@brunodias.dev

The world being proposed by the claims of AI companies requires that 1. frontier models are so much better than widely-available ones at finding vulnerabilities that those "frontier CVEs" carry unique risk; 2. they successfully kept anyone with bad intentions from touching those models ever

too many people think code is a binary and it either works or it doesn't, when really it's a spectrum from "does it blow up (almost) every time" to "this will never have an issue" code that looks like it works can only *mostly* work, and that's often the worst code of all this is a post about AI

the constant grind of semiotic violence from AI is so fucking exhausting man. read some text that doesn't say anything. look at some images that don't mean anything. here's some code I didn't write and quite possibly haven't run, presented as if it's a solution to a problem

I like seeing the dev of the SNES core on the Pocket actually telling one of these dudes off. Holy shit.

I suppose I could actually post what the in game thing looks like. I do in fact have the power.

Finally getting back to some game dev. Pretty happy with how this enemy design came out. In engine, I've already added particle effects to make it a flaming skull (hence the orange eyes).

sad news for all the vibe coders which apparently includes the leadership of this webbed site but i can do this cool trick where once i determine what the structure of the code should actually be to avoid future tech debt i can simply put it down into text at the speed of typing you know. coding

People who aren’t using AI to code at this point are delusional or lying, trying to ride a horse down the highway and backing up the traffic instead of asking “what can we do to make cars safer and electric.” They have no ethical high ground

Ironic how even the metaphor fails to understand the underlying issues. Safer / electric cars are not the solution, expanded public transport is. Those that don't use AI to code (me) aren't just trying to ride an ethical high horse. I actually enjoy the act of writing code / working on a problem.

Where's my fucking open-source image editing tool that actually competes with Photoshop? Where's my Wayland compositor that genuinely doesn't suck? Where's my fix for every NVidia driver problem on Linux? You keep saying how great these tools are then making nothing good with them!

Alright y'all, this is it! The final stretch for the game industry hardship fund. We've got $13k to raise in 14 hours to meet the final goal, I think we can do it. itch.io/b/3802/game-...

In response to the unprecedented number of game developers laid off this year, we have created a bundle on itch to benefit a Game Industry Hardship Fund, managed by @videogameworkers.bsky.social. More than 100 games for 10+ bucks! Please share widely and donate generously! itch.io/b/3802/game-...

This did up being successful. Now I just need to multi thread it...

Love stewing on a problem for multiple days until the solution finally manifests right as I'm going to bed (genuinely). Now to implement it and see if it actually works...

Our games industry is people. Our studios are people. Our teams people, our games by people for people. Our games are made by people, in groups of people, in teams of people, making people things for people. The magic is people, and the people deserve so much better than all this. I am so sorry.

Today is a momentous day for the workers of Arena! After months of planning, waiting and organizing, our dream is finally a reality; the votes have been counted, and our union of UWOTC-CWA has been officially elected. From this day forward, we have a union!

Post the best picture you have ever taken of your pet. The image quality is a little lacking but the position was just too perfect that I hurried to take it before he woke up and moved. xD

Today we begin the official NLRB election for recognition of our union. We start with in person voting today followed by a period for remote workers to mail in ballots. We’re excited for every worker to have a chance to vote and look forward to the results in a couple weeks.
