Idk why people think there's some gotcha about Flavio Bolsonaro's papers… CBP can admit or parole people in to the country without a passport and/or visa, at entirely at the government's discretion.

Immigration for me, not for thee.

WASHINGTON (AP) — State Department says it will give US visas to defeated Brazilian presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro and his family.

Is it outside the realm of possibility for Kamalla, Hillary, Ilhan, Chuck, and Hakeem to get together and do this for real? That would be next level trolling.

How racist and desperate do you have to be to look at this and say, “Got ‘em!”?

Cities are service delivery organizations. The corporate model where the "shareholders" elect a "board of directors" who hire a "CEO" who works well. That said, everyone needs to know their place and there need to be clear accountability mechanisms.

I think I finished the first pass of cleaning up the field names for every version of every form the FEC has in their raw downloadable campaign finance disclosure files.

Vivek Ramaswamy's campaign for Ohio governor is pouring $4 million into a bombshell ad in which his opponent's estranged mother attacks her daughter — doubling down on the message despite fierce bipartisan backlash, Axios has learned.

Republicans believe that parents own their children, and should be able to treat them as they wish.

I see a lot of people blaming this train wreck on both Vivek's and his PAC's poor/non-existent vetting. But I'd like to at least toss out the idea that these are all bad people who *had* vetted the story and simply did not see anything all that bad with Acton's mother's or stepfather's actions.

Europe’s cost recovery approach for ATC services using user fees looks quite appealing. ATC services aren’t something that should or even needs to be subsidized by the public.

Definitely charge private aircrafts more fees than what consumers pay for their flights

These findings tell me that the survey questions need work. Asking well-off people if they live “paycheck to paycheck” is just a folksy way of asking about their savings rate.

In internet speak: "not an ad" mean "this is not a communication that we would be required to identify as an advertisement pursuant to federal law (15 U.S.C. § 45)".

I can’t imagine how bad X is doing financially. At least half the ads are house ads for Starlink and SpaceX merch. The other half is mostly DTC products. The only mainstream brand I’ve seen is the Wall Street Journal. I even saw one for a tobacco product.

Why is tagging PDFs correctly so hard?!? I'm trying to copy and paste out of my sample ballot from my county elections office and everything is out of order. You'd think software developers generating complex PDFs would get it right…

Doesn't help that this is a completely bilingual document so there is English and Spanish interspersed everywhere. Beautiful but frustrating.

Great story about how the state has given up on doing anything about cranks selling their bacteria filled dairy products (ha ha that photo obviously did a number on me woooooooo) www.propublica.org/article/cali...

So… what CDN are they gonna get to distribute their live-streamed execution? Not sure they entirely though through the logistics of this…

In other health care random money news: I’m glad I opened the “important plan information” envelope from Blue Shield: it had a check for $6.50, an over payment refund from the manufacturer of one of my prescriptions. Direct from Puerto Rico!

Mother: “Why did Social Security randomly deposit $90 this morning?!?” Me: Googles… God dam it. “It’s extra money from Trump trying to buy your vote.”
