Mutli-million dollar start-up suffers outage for over seven hours and those responsible carry on shitposting like it's all one big laugh... I'm beginning to wonder whether building on ATProto was really such a good idea @bsky.app

Like, am I missing something, or is this how business is conducted when there's tonnes of other people's money to burn? Zuck and Musk must be tickle pink to know that there's no grownups running the show here

Pretty much entirely AI, and yet … I’m into it.

If I were Nigel Farage, I’d dip into that £5 million crypto gift just to fund a video that can compete with this! 🤣 HILARIOUS ⬇️

In an effort to pick up a little bit of the language, I've been watching Catalan TV with English subtitles. I started watching a thriller called La Fossa (The Pit), after the first episode I had got into it... Started the second episode, went to switch on subtitles, and no English 😳 Raging!

@bsky.app What have you done to your auth servers? I'm getting errors across the board saying your servers are unable to obtain client metadata but a number of checks our side shows our client-metadata.json to be fully accessible

In my benevolent dictatorship, rolling news channels will be banned. Instead four news programmes of up to an hour each will be permitted per day. That should cut down on waste and the need to constantly fill time with superfluous information and helicopters filming trains arriving at stations.

Starmer is refusing to allow debate time for the Early Day Motion about the EHRC ‘guidance’, despite it being signed by over 140 MPs. If we get 100,000 signatures on this petition we can force a debate.

Complaining about nightlife when you *checks notes* choose to live in Soho is like living in South Kensington and complaining about the museums. Or moving to Hackney and grumbling about creatives. Living in Richmond and hating green space. It's all getting a bit silly, isn't it?

I hate the news media in the English speaking world. The whole forth estate is inhabited by little more than feckless, lazy hacks who can barely string a sentence together without injecting pejorative language designed to upset people; all in hope they don't have to do any actual work.

I mean, why bother doing any actual journalism when you can simply incite a race riot and report on what happens? Next they'll be getting Claude to write the copy from the video, calling it news then going to the pub.

Why was it relevant or necessary to mention the origin of the perpetrator in the knife attack in Belfast? Why did it matter? It didn't matter, not one bit, but it had the desired affect and now those "news" folk can have an easy couple of days reporting on the fallout they're responsible for.

I have written to the Prime Minister and Bridget Phillipson, calling for the cruel and confusing EHRC Code of Practice to be rejected. Legislative action must be taken to create an equalities framework that protects trans people’s safety, dignity and humanity.

To all those Labour MPs would would rather look out for their jobs in three years, instead of putting the nation first, a pox on all your houses. Now is not the time for a self-indulgent leadership contest; you're just as bad as the Tories. Odious narrow-minded little people. #Labour #KeirStarmer

It's never been easier to find answers to simple questions, especially tech questions like, "does this thing have that feature"? So I never quite understand it when folks ask others instead of hitting a search enginer or a chat bot... Like dude, let me just Google that for you 🤷‍♂️

5 days later, I'm on story 12 of 52; this is taking longer than expected!

The latest Chunky Guys blog post just dropped, and to no one's surprise it's all about the #Bluesky outage this week...

Chunky Guys@chunkyguys.com

New on the blog. Bluesky's outage this week took down every app built on their infrastructure, including ours. We're not waiting for it to happen again. Here's what we're building, why it matters, and why the whole ATProto community is waking up to the same problem.

Yesterday Bluesky went down. @eurosky.social servers worked but we couldn't communicate as we don't have an app. Our next step is to build everything we need to operate without Bluesky. We're raising €100,000 to build a European app backend supporting 100k+ users. Let's do this fund.eurosky.tech

Ok @bsky.app you need to work on your network resilience before fannying around with AI that literally not one user gives a single fuck about. This morning's outage - tied with the network status page also crashing - gives ZERO confidence for people building tools in the #ATmosphere.
