Pleased to be in this list of women calling for asylum seekers to be included in the Government’s plan to tackle violence against women & girls. Violence doesn’t stop at the border - and neither should our compassion for survivors @4refugeewomen.bsky.social

Since 7 October 2023 an average of 27 children have been killed in Gaza by Israel every single day. A whole classroom of children wiped out everyday by a genocidal regime, even while queuing for food and water. And still the UK government sells them weapons. Shame on them.

He's right. But also: this was exactly how some of us warned the Terrorism Act 2000 would be used when it was passed, by the government in which Peter Hain was a minister. He and all the others either ignored or dismissed our warnings. It's very frustrating.

“Technologies of control are ramping up while democratic rights are ramping down. We drift towards extreme political repression, driven by the demands of capital and foreign states, accelerated by automation. This is why we must protest – now, while we still can” 👏 @georgemonbiot.bsky.social

If one of these people is your senator, it is incredibly important that you call them today. Urge them to vote NO on the Senate budget bill that would make most Americans poorer to give billionaires a tax cut they don't even need.

The garden is a right mess (I've ignored it for some time) but I love this rose. I planted it 2 decades ago to commemorate my Mormor (mother's mother). It seems to have thrived on being ignored.

This is an image of British Commandos on a approaching Sword Beach on D-Day, 6th June 1944. War is a horrific thing; these men left their loved ones to enter its hellish cauldron. Some never returned. We remember their immense bravery and sacrifices so that they should never be necessary again.
