He wants to spend it filling in potholes for drivers and denying people transport choices doesn't he?

The local MP said he would lobby the government to change it's funding rules so active travel money did not have to be spent on infrastructure projects like this. road.cc/news/cycling...

There has to be proper parallel route for cycling without having to dodge the beemers driven at speed, ASLs properly enforced, ban illegal car parking in Wigmore St. Plus #begbuttons for those traversing by motor rather than for those walking on the main drag. And open to cycling 20.00 to 07.00

The media have ignored the Covid Inquiry outcome. All those deaths directly caused by Johnson and Hancock ignoring advice. They need banging up. But we are moving on. Because the media say we should. Failed 6yrs on by our media colluding with the vile Tories. Never forget.

UK lacks essential electricity transmission/storage systems. Billions paid to solar & wind turbine farms to switch off during periods of high sunshine/winds, expected to cost £8bn a year by 2030. National Grid pays dividends. What is the Govt doing? Watch the Minister's reply.

There needs to be enforceable standards or parents with pushchairs, children, and people with mobility issues, and literally every pedestrian will have their safety put at risk by their remaining limited area being invaded by car infrastructure.

This video camera study showed that less than 5% of people on bikes broke traffic laws while riding bikes, yet 66% of people did so while driving. And perhaps even more importantly, if you REALLY want even MORE bike-riders to obey laws, build more protected bike infrastructure. Via @carltonreid.com

Lime sent me a parking warning for this parking in Highbury Crescent on Tuesday. Apparently I need to check the app as boroughs don’t allow Lime in all parking bays. It’s such a confusing mess and a pan-London scheme can’t come soon enough.

So it is just to line the pockets of the fossil fuel corporations then. Well now we know who labour cares about and it isn't you and me.

On going ahead with Jackdaw: Sally Nugent: "For people who are going to be struggling to pay their energy bills this winter, what difference will this make?" Energy secretary: "its really important to be clear that this project does not have an impact on affordability & bills"

The Energy Secretary says North Sea drilling “won’t take a penny off energy bills.” The Health Secretary says summer heatwaves put pressure on the NHS. So where’s the Government’s impact assessment? If they don’t have one, they should delay the decision on drilling for oil & gas until they do.

Between 2021 and 2025, around 2 million cyclists passed the floating bus stops on Leith Street, Edinburgh, and around 5 million bus passengers boarded or alighted here. No injuries have been recorded. Over the same period, drivers injured around 600 Edinburgh pedestrians, killing 16.

Switzerland has recognized that adjusting parking space markings to accommodate increasingly large cars would result in the loss of one-sixth of available parking spaces. Consequently, resident parking permits are no longer issued for vehicles that are too large.

‘It’s the best feeling’: how Copenhagen gave cyclists a green wave. “Traffic lights are synchronised so a rush-hour cyclist at 20km/h can catch green lights all the way.” If you want people to choose not to drive, make the non-driving trip better & easier for them. It’s as simple as that, really.

Apparently at around 1:30 PM ET, the main accounts for the No Kings coalition on Instagram were frozen and pulled down. Admins have lost access to the account and are unable to log in. This happened at the peak of the organization's national day of action. Instagram, of course, is owned by Meta.

UK's dysfunctional power grid. Yesterday Scotland had over capacity. Rather than provide free energy in Scotland, the turbines were switched off, then gas turbines switch on in the South of England. Then EVERYONE in Scotland pays for electricity like it's gas. www.theguardian.com/business/202...

It either complies with EAPC regulations, in which case it is an ebike, or it is a motor vehicle. There is no grey area in the eyes of the law. So anything that exceeds the limits placed on it by those regulations is an emoto/electric motorcycle; not an ebike.

Using the word e-bike to do with any kind of discussion around enforcement against illegally operated motor vehicles creates confusion and deliberately implies that bicycles are the problem.

Those of us sensitive to the damage misleading terms can cause would appreciate it if you described these as 'Electric motorbikes' Scott. E-BIkes are as we know legal, safe and an incredible game changer re urban transport. Every one one of your committee's problems comes from Electric motorbikes.
