Centuries ahead of its time, Giovanni Battista Bracelli's "Bizzarie di Varie Figure" (1624) depicts figures made from a range of objects, mostly abstract — cubes, rings, squares — but also such things as rackets, screws, and braided hair. More here: publicdomainreview.org/collection/b...

We've just incurred a $7,500 CAD bill to do radon mitigation and replace our broken sump pump, because we hate lung cancer and flooded basements. Now would be a really wonderful time for folks to buy some of my writing or send me a few bucks for because you like what I do! ko-fi.com/argylewerewolf

Had a blast talking the weirdness of community management with Brendan and Nic. We were also plagued by a tuba in the background for most of the recording. Listen for honks and blaseball
This month on PAPER LABYRINTHS, we talk with Bria Davis @thevoidencore.bsky.social about Blaseball, discord servers, different types of communities, and the work of passing on lessons learned. sites.libsyn.com/568595/site/...

This is the best explanation for why this game means so much to me. I'm deeply invested in a continuation of a story that captured my imagination 30 years ago, but what's made me a participant, rather than a consumer, is the desolate romance of a truck abandoned on a hill. Thank you @goosepimple.moe

Genuinely, this concern about AI is one of the reasons why I think having friction in video games is good and why it's increasingly important to have games that simply exist instead of catering to our expectations. Reposting this message from Kojima about "pre-digested" art:
“The Al is not just telling you what you want to hear. It is training you, one conversation at a time, to need less friction, expect more agreement, and become slightly less capable of handling a situation where someone pushes back on you”
