Replying to @masnick.com

... the answer is to not use platforms like Insta, and bring communities to social media built on open protocols, such as atproto or ActivityPub, where the account holder has way more control.

And now the best part: Bot traffic from the #Yandex network has plunged to near zero following the strike on its Vladimir data center. Bot traffic includes automated requests from search crawlers, scrapers and other online services. Twitter must be a ghost town by now.

All three Yandex AI supercomputers are reportedly offline: Galushkin in Vladimir, Chervonenkis and Lyapunov in Sasovo, whose data center shut down after the Oct 8 strike. Yandex Cloud outages also threaten thousands of Russian firms relying on it for websites, databases and payments 👏

I just published a deep-dive into the 250-hour build behind syntaqlite, a SQLite formatter and LSP I built using AI agents. AI agents were the only reason built this after 8 years of wanting but there's a psychological toll to AI-assisted engineering. The post-mortem: lalitm.com/post/buildin...

Gemini CLI has plan mode now. I don't know how good it is but this was the main barrier to me using it other than as a reviewer for Claude Code work.

Very disturbing implications for a couple of places where I’ve lived, and encouraging ones for the place where I’m from. From Pew: “We asked people around the world to rate the morality and ethics of others in their country.”

From @vercel.com: An agent performing support duties for a specific customer should receive a tool scoped to that customer's data, not a tool that accepts a customer ID parameter, since that parameter is subject to prompt injection. vercel.com/blog/securit...

In the last 48 hours, Musk's reactions to the Epstein release show exactly why he bought Twitter. He's used the platform to call coverage of his emails with Epstein as "lies," elevated his fans who have defended him, and gotten positive reinforcement from his AI chatbot.

At what point does Poilievre look at how Carney handles things and think, crap, I'm really not the person the country needs now?

CARNEY: “.. You cannot live within the lie of mutual benefit through integration when integration becomes the source of your subordination.” 🔥

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Carney: "American hegemony in particular helped provide public goods, a stable financial system... this bargain no longer works. Let me be direct. We are in the midst of a rupture, not a transition... recently, great powers have begun using economic integration as a weapon. Tariffs as leverage ... "

This is the best speech, just from a pure rhetoric perspective - its sophistication and persuasiveness - that I've seen a politician deliver in a good long while. Really recommend watching or reading the whole thing.
