Anthropomorphic baked potato. Simultaneously full of wonder and seething with rage. I was doing this before it was cool. Overheated, here let me warm you up.

Two things have been made official on this trip to the north: my kitten is now a cat, and I am her favorite. Both, proven by the dead mouse presented on my side of the bed which I briefly stepped on.

Vote them out so we can rescind this "proof of citizenship" on our driver's license. Your citizenship status is now linked to every interaction/ transaction that requires identification, and that will absolutely be abused.

They pushed it on schools, now it's libraries. This is NOT normal behavior for a democratic government. We are being dragged along by an ideologue.

This was a terrific read. An eloquent summation of what so many of us know would create the most good for the most people, including those "lonely men" who would come along.

Today I wrote about the Male Loneliness Epidemic, and the ways that a cult(ure) of abuse leads so many to seek paths of healing solely on behalf of abusers, and doing so not by building paths of universal liberation, but by repairing paths of domination. www.the-reframe.com/fix-your-hea...

As the right-wing meme page Canada Proud was posting calls to "DEFUND THE CBC," the same PR firm behind it was being indirectly funded by CBC journalists’ own union dues. Yeah. And that's not all. So I’m teaming up with my friends at @nationalobserver.com to tell you all about it:

For a good chunk of products, this could work. Ethical living can and should involve consuming less in lots of cases. Difficult momentum to build in our "only growth" system, but it needs to change.

This is a monumentally irresponsible move. Whoever advised the premier should resign or be fired. Smith shouldn't just withdraw the threat. She should apologize for threatening to cut off Albertans' access to their own justice system. Tomorrow. edmonton.citynews.ca/2026/02/03/a...

Hey, so, if our would-be autocratic gov't calls a referendum, illegitimate as it may be, we have to show up. Because 100% of separatists will show up. We need to not just win, but absolutely embarrass this "movement".

Spread the word and talk to friends and family about this. Slippery word-salad like this can sound reasonable but there is no 'reasoned consideration of our options' when separation is only an option in a alternate reality of law and economics.

We are a nation of migrants. The more we lift up and support integration of students and ALL newcomers, the more cohesive and prosperous our nation. Why do we never stop "othering" our newest would-be migrants?!

We promised them a home. Instead, they became collateral damage. Canada’s message to international students was “Study, work, and stay.” Now, policies are changing, and tens of thousands may lose their status. Writer @marcellodicintio.bsky.social explores: thewalrus.ca/canada-held-the-...

I'm conflicted. Nothing concrete yet, but if the motive WAS political we need to remember that democracy depends on being able to speak your mind and dissent without fear of violence. But CK undermined democracy with misinformation and hate-mongering which no doubt created unnecessary suffering.

Feels like kismet. We got swept up in bringing this beauty home, decided on the name Clover, and THEN found out she was born on March 17! Welcome home, Clover 💚

My plea to the Conservatives: get back to creating concrete plans for the Canadian economy and excise the tumor of socially oppressive, anti-science thinking in your party. Canadians deserve choice in leadership without the price of the rights and health of their loved ones.
