Well, at least the AI (Gemini) is admitting it might not know 😁 "...you can likely switch between these options..." when I asked about whether #veed would allow me to switch on and off screen sharing in the middle of recording.

Roughly 6 weeks in on the new gig and a first in my career. Our CEO, Samar, just spent an hour with all of us new folks talking about culture. The warmth and humility that he brought to the meeting, as he does every day,... amazing! @temporal.io :temporallove: <- one of our slack emojis ❤️

I am (re) reading the Platform Engineering Maturity Model and love this statement: "as in any #socio-technical system these aspects are complex and interrelated." I made it a hashtag because, well, I think it should be! #platformengineering tag-app-delivery.cncf.io/whitepapers/...

"developers have an endpoint available for their application within a few minutes" following an "app" provisioning request. Hmm... reminds me of, #cloudfoundry cf push. #Maersk has built a custom #IDP using #temporal to orchestrate all of the pieces (including that router & more). #replay2025

Trigger warning: child suicide. I wasn’t ready to read this. My kid is also learning Japanese. Protect Trans Kids. 🏳️‍⚧️

In a new lawsuit filed against Trump by state AGs, a family with a trans kid shares she died by suicide last month citing fears Trump would deny her access to gender-affirming care. "Her parents have expressed fear...that what happened to their daughter does not happen to other children."

This has been two weeks of constant events that are more dangerous than January 6th or, I’d absolutely argue, even 9/11, and it is a damning indictment of American media that so many publications and reporters are too cowardly, too docile, to act like it.

Faine Greenwood@faineg.com

Yes. Meanwhile the rest of mainstream media is largely acting like this has been a mildly worrisome two weeks, not the greatest scandal and danger to America that any of us has ever lived through.

@pahlkadot.bsky.social ‘s posts just keep getting better and better!

“What this kind of thing tells everyone — on the right and the left, elites and the working class — is that the rule of law is easily twisted by those in power to justify whatever it is they want to do.” https://www.eatingpolicy.com/p/thoughts-for-inauguration-day?utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web

For whatever reason, I've never been exposed to radix sort. It's pretty darn clever. Sorts numbers by least significant to most significant digits. Really well suited for large data sets with relatively few digits. (and yes, I am a geek for finding this interesting - especially on a Saturday 🤷‍♀️)

... and speaking of my book (www.manning.com/books/cloud-...), I am interested in your thoughts: I am toying with the idea of a second edition. The patterns are all just as relevant today as they were when I first published, but there are some new ones and there are new implementations of many...

manning.comCloud Native PatternsThis book presents a mental model for cloud-native applications. Develop strong applications that thrive in the dynamic, distributed, virtual world of the cloud.

... for example, some of you might have noticed that I am playing with #durableexecution, specifically #temporal these days. Super interesting implications on Cloud Native architectures.

A small mention of the real issue: "the war that Facebook started, seemingly accidentally: the battle to own everything." and "they [Google] need everyone reading and sharing everything through Google+ so they can compete with Facebook for ad-targeting data, ad dollars, growth, and relevance."

Damn! #Temporal is crazy cool! I think I just came up with the demo of #replay that was the equivalent of killing a container in #cloudfoundry and it magically reappearing. (remember, cloud foundry did this before #kubernetes even existed)

Hey #SpringBoot folks and others... We know that #Java and Spring are still WIDELY used in the corporate enterprise, but what about public sector? Anyone have some insight or statistics you could share?
