"Why did I break my blizzard boycott for wow forever?" I ask as they can't even get the name reservation part right as I'm sitting here for 30 minutes.

Got hired at Waffle House. As I was driving in for training I thought "I dont want to do this." Walked in, told them, they said ok, and I left.

We just had our Netsuite vendor do a review of our scripts for compliance on the new version. They found the two jokes scripts I wrote and added to Netsuite to help a few coworkers cope with the change to it. lol.

What I hate in all this AI stuff is that it takes the bullshit asymmetry principle to an extreme. The amount of time I'm fighting bullshit that AI is spewing is amazing now.

Was Andrew Torrez cleared of his wrong doing? Or are we just moving past it all now? Cause..... I'm pretty sure it was horrible.

While I am glad that AI has gotten rid of the anxiety of dealing with Stack Overflow, it has added even more anguish with all of it's constant BS. I almost want to be yelled at again on the stack.

I have a story about this! Back in 2015, I was in charge of HR and we were giving a raise to an IT person. They were going from $31.5k/year to $45k/year. Their per pay period was going from $1,213.85/pp to $1,730.77/pp. But, the HR clerk at the time goofed it .....

Did they pay taxes on this money? Will they get that back? Only giving them 30 days to repay is totally unreasonable. fox8.com/news/local-c...

I remember asking if the payroll company can only pull back what they put in, they said "No" they can request any amount. Not sure if the rules have changed since 2015, but it was an eye opening experience. We also still laugh with the employee about that paycheck as they are still here.

So if you are really paranoid about your company being evil when you are about to leave the company, make sure that your direct deposit account is empty, so they can't try to pull back your last paycheck or anything like that.

and figured it out Thursday morning. The employee also figured it out Thursday morning because they saw the pending transaction and they reached out. We talked to our payroll company about how to reverse it and that's when I learned something fun, that the payroll company could just take it back.

They explained that when the employee signed up for direct deposit, it opened a two way street. They said it would be no problem for them to just take the money back from the employee and then we were going to cut them a check for the appropriate amount. And that happened. In about three hours.

They put the $1,730.77 as their hourly rate, not pay period rate. So on the next pay check, it gave the employee $138,461.60 gross wages. The amount of taxes that it took out was breath taking, but I don't have those details anymore, I believe what actually hit the bank account was going to be 60k

At the time, we submitted the payroll file on Wednesday, it would take out of our bank on Thursday and hit employee banks, sometimes Thursday but definitely by Friday. After it was submitted, when the HR manager was reviewing the bank draw, they noticed the bank draw was 60k higher than normal...

AI can make the ditto version of software very quickly. But it is still the ditto version, not equivalent or close to it.

Holy shit. Someone has decompiled the Adobe suite, rebuilt it in Rust and released it as open source. Either all software is dead or the US copyright laws are about to receive an update. getartcraft.com/apps

I love Blood on the Clocktower and murder mystery type stuff and saw YT was recommend something like "The Try Guys Murder Mystery Party" and I'm like, who are the "Try Guys". Googling got me the attached description. I now officially feel old and as though modern comedy has passed me by.

If anyone knows a lawyer in the Boston area who might be looking for work, is willing to try litigation, and doesn’t mind the absolute lack of prestige and barely adequate compensation of what I do, please send them my way.

My daughter watches vloggers. I finally realized why I hate them, they cut out all gaps in their talking. So it skips so fast and you just never get a break from their voice.

I was worried it would be harder to prosecute them under CFAA to meet the intentional standard when they hit private computers. Now they are admitting to hitting government ones that's just knowingly standard. Jail them.

Are we going to get the bestiality application list? Also, I thought it was beast-iality, wouldn't that make more sense?

He's thinking too small. The triumphal arch should be topped with 50 foot tall statues of Nike, who can shoot lasers out of her eyes, and in whose arms nestle functional machine guns. In an emergency, her breasts slide to the side, revealing grenade launchers.
