In 2016, we published potentially the largest single feature to ever appear in Game Informer magazine with a full oral history of the legendary studio, BioWare. We've made that feature available online following reports of the studio's impending closure. gameinformer.com/feature/2026...

This is another reason why AI losers have gotten into retro decomp/recomp projects. Nobody wants to play AI slop games, so they have to reinforce the value of AI by producing something desirable, which in this case is just repackaging the work of actual talented people.

zagawee@zachisagardner.bsky.social

just wanted to share something i discovered the amount of games released in 2022 compared to this year has increased by 77%. I use 2022 because that marks the last year before AI really took over the internet whats crazy to me is that the amount of games with ZERO REVIEWS has ALMOST TRIPLED. ZERO?

But what is Tim and Elon's argument? What points do they raise? What insight do they offer? None... because Tim spends all day talking to LLMs he doesn't provide an argument or counter-point - he tells Kenney how to think. Think like me - he is trying to correct an LLM not speak to a human.

Last I'll post about this, but Elon Musk disagrees with me. This means I am onto something, and I feel more valid in my opinion than ever.

Saw someone sharing their A-ha Take On Me style shader, and as it's something I've been working on for ages (making things look like paper for our game, Leonardo's Moon Ship), here's a WIP of mine. #godotengine #godot #gamedev #indiedev

There is no one more active and trying to manipulate American politics than Elon musk. What about? Nah. He Even used twitter to push the Talarico in a mental hospital false conspiracy… He is alone and you all just keep handing him power and money. Fuck you www.yahoo.com/news/politic...

Code is art but it is art in the same way that the written word is art, or GUI design is art, which is that to most people it is part of the wallpaper of the universe, not conscious of the fact that someone still has to design their wallpapers

may@maysuser.name

my ultimate thing about "is code art" is that code is art but especially on larger and more corporatized projects code is designed to be so standardized and interchangeable in a way that's largely incompatible with the way we talk about art in the same way that a soap opera is

What will history think of the current moment? Just as the "Jewish question" defined.the political conversation of the 1930s (albeit it had existed in some capacity for a century+), so too does the "Transgender question" defines much of today's political discourse. Will we learn from the history?

voices sing, us or them, I'm not gonna be led. when it falls like rain, and your fates in another hand now there's rarely only one right side of history. this is one of those times. stand up for something more then just your safe little life. be something greater

Cast me to the fire, there will be no peace until the tyranny is broken, the mass hypnosis fractured, let the oil price burn the truth into their minds

it begins as a mere whisper as the tides shift, as the sun and moon struggle, the breeze quickens as the trees begin to lurch, the houses creaking, they march on when the earth cracks, when the sparks turn to flame still they march on as the door closes, as the end draws near still they march on

working in tech is kind of like this, when I first started there were multiple women on all my teams, I haven't worked directly with a woman who wasn't my manager in five years

Vikki Blake (Vixx)@vixx.bsky.social

I've been around long enough that I've gone from being the only woman on editorial, to an almost 50/50 split, to going back to being the one woman again. It's so fucking depressing.

Feb. 11, 1936 (Victor Klemperer, on Modern Liberals) Outside the post office a man stopped me. “Don’t you recognize me? Dr. Kleinstock, rector of the Vitztum High School. I saw you the other day too. You also saw me but you looked away. (1/2)

I was afraid you looked away because you feared I wouldn’t greet you. That’s why I stopped you to ask, How are you?” I was moved by his attitude. I answered and added, “I was told that you, Herr Rector, are a top-Nazi now.” He: “Oh my God, one can never please everybody.” It's tragicomical

reading lingua tertii imperii it's impossible to ignore what's going on against trans people (and to immigrants, the disabled). I believe the word in vogue 100 years ago was "untermensch". The facts are clear; American fascism, while a different beast, has the same extermination mindset as the NSDAP
