I like this one a lot, because it makes doing things like this Synchronized Lobby a BREEZE. Each player has a name and a color, and the API for managing that is really intuitive and light-weight - No RPCs, Synchronizers or Spawners

Here's hoping I did not just spend all day re-inventing the wheel. Worked on an algorithm to determine if a 2d circle projected on to a 3d mesh is "in bounds" of the mesh. #Godot #gdscript

Having 108 Entities calling the "InBounds" every physics step is costing me 1-5 milliseconds per Physics step. Doesn't seem too bad, but I bet it could be optimized more.

Found a use for DrawableTextures in a recent tangent - feels like a pretty great way to dynamically generate tables as a texture. Anyway, points to anyone who can figure out what this Type Chart means ;)

I see some concerns raised about Godot's policy on contributions using AI. TL;DR: Godot isn't vibe-coded. As a whole, the Godot foundation and maintainers are fairly critical of AI usage, and don't make nor accept vibe-coded contributions. Godot doesn't include AI features nor intends to add any.

Saying again, I’m so excited to have brought DrawableTextures to Godot! Can’t wait for cool tech art to be made, and have several improvements already open as PRs!

#GodotEngine 4.7 is here! 🎉 Like a cult classic movie, Godot 4 has only gotten better with age; the 4.7 Director's Cut offers colors of never-before-reached intensity, helming a bevy of new features to eliminate any remaining friction between you and your vision! godotengine.org/releases/4.7/

Trying out the new DrawableTexture2D coming in Godot 4.7. I made this "dynamic normal map" texture resource. #godot #godotengine

Going to be hanging out around Yerba Buena for GDC most of tomorrow! If anyone wants to say hi, chat about #Godot, or anything else, send me a message! Love meeting the fellow devs and UCSC grads there every year

My friend and I play Hearthstone Battlegrounds at least once a week because it scratches a cooperative card game itch like no other - so I’m hooting, hollering and cheering for Slay the Spire co-op! Can’t wait to get accused of throwing for forcing claw build

The first #Godot release with Drawable Textures is HERE! AHHHHHH Extremely pumped to see what people do with these (also very ready for a lot of feedback.) If you see this and play with these at all, tag it #GodotDraws - I'd love to be able to follow everyone's work!

Our first development snapshot for #GodotEngine 4.7 has arrived! Virtual joysticks, drawable textures, Windows HDR support, Vulkan raytracing groundwork, and more are ripe for testing: godotengine.org/article/dev-...

Big TV watching week, both Wonderman and Pluribus were delightful! Both funny, well paced, and very thoughtful. That said, if The Bear is eligible for comedy awards, I think Pluribus should be too - lots of moments had me busting up

So I wanted to make a Pokemon ROM hack right? But oops, the DS hacking tools are frustrating to use on my machine, so it’s time for me to make my own tool with Godot. But oops, a few Godot features I wanted to use didn’t work right, guess I need to contribute to Godot now! Etc, etc…

I have the exact opposite problem where I get nerdsniped into perpetually making tools instead of the project it was designed for

EXTREMELY pleased to have finally had my DrawableTextures PR merged into #Godot! This is a significant feature I took a lot of time developing, and I’m so excited for people to get their hands on it in the first builds of 4.7 - and especially to admire cool new tech art this makes possible

I'm in here again! My DrawableTextures PR was a little too big to be reviewed in time, but I squeezed a few more bug fixes in. Excited to update my editor!

#Godot 4.6 is out, and all about your flow! This release puts you and your workflow first with a new theme, flexible docks, and dozens of UX improvements. And Jolt Physics by default, revamped IK, better reflections, and more. Less wrestling with UI. More making games. godotengine.org/releases/4.6

I'm sure someone much smarter than me has a good reason for this, but it took me longer than I wanted to solve an issue created by this inconsistent bit arrangement. Baseline/Bottom are alternately 11 and 01 despite being enumerated in the same order. Funny #godot quirk I guess!

14 Phases, a month of trying, in the range of 180-190 Successful catches, and probably nearly 400 Dynamax Adventures, I HAVE ACHIEVED TOOTHPASTE LIZARD. Had to turn down a Shiny Vaporeon for it though, tough choice ;) #shinypokemon #pokemon

Officially 100% Silksong - what a spectacular game. I think I give it 9/10 due to some rough balancing, and the ending not feeling as grand/satisfying as the original, but that doesn't detract from it being an absolute joy to play. Sheerly stunning in scale, and packed with constant surprise.

Silksong might not get funnier than my friend being in disbelief as I discover not one, but TWO whole new zones hidden behind breakable walls in areas he’d already traversed

Friend and I chatting on discord as play Silksong (WHAT A GOOD GAME) and I mishear something he says as “Spin Jump”. Now all our conversation centers around the mythical spin jump power up. If only I could find it.

Finished a week or so ago, but Deltarune is an extremely good video game! Incredibly paced story, no idea how it'll be topped after this. All the secret bosses really good too, beat CH2 secret in only 3 tries, but CH4 secret easily my favorite.
