You know how i know it's all made up? The US still has more sanction options to put pressure on Russia after 14 years of war, and especially after the last three. Why wouldn't we hit them with all of it at the beginning? Why wouldn't we already "cripple their economy"? Because it's all made up.

Fox News hosts saying Gavin Newsom’s tweets are childish and unbecoming of the governor of the state of California shows that you can lead a horse to water but the joke will still go over their heads.

The Declaration of Independence asserts the people's right to alter or abolish a government that becomes destructive of their inalienable rights………..

Yet didn't Trump boast that he had the support of the unions?

The VA’s unilateral termination of union contracts for ~360k workers represents a loss of 2.5% OF ALL UNION MEMBERS IN AMERICA. I’m not sure what it will take for the labor movement to get into crisis mode, but the crisis is here.

Congress abandoned the Emoluments Clause, probably because it’s filled with insider trading millionaires from both of the corporate political parties.

Parts of the Constitution were erased from the Library of Congress website, including the section featuring the foreign emoluments clause. The removal was blamed on a "coding error." Here's a reminder of what the clause says, just in case Congress ever decides to enforce it...

I've been burning through the Collapsing Empire series by @scalzi.com but it worries me that the Interdependency has to wait for ships to not show up before agreeing something is wrong. Aren't they sending daily news and comms drones through the flow? Wouldn't the lack of drones be a tipoff?

When Andrew Jackson sent Native Americans on the Trail of Tears, it was a policy choice. When the British diverted food away from the Irish during The Great Hunger, it was a policy choice. The starvation & death in Gaza is no different. This is a policy choice & our government is complicit in it.

Thinking about how they called Clinton a socialist; called Obama a socialist; and called Biden a socialist. Medicare was socialist. Pell Grants were socialist. Public TV was socialist. The ACA (with its Heritage Foundation plan for mandated coverage) was socialist. We could keep going.

Juneteenth is the perfect moment to remind everyone of two facts: 1. Those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it. 2. Those who prevent history from being taught are plotting to repeat it. Read this out loud. Read it again. Then teach it to your kids.
