TPS is going to be big mad for the next while with Chow leading things again. Good. I wonder if they'll spend more money on ads telling the public not to expect fast service or to "leave keys for theives to take" again. globalnews.ca/news/1035905...

MultiBrad: Well I'll just say that despite the data saying that Olivia Chow won, the perception across the city, and the general feeling is that I actually won.

I am looking forward to an orderly election, which will eliminate the need for a violent bloodbath. #TOpoli #VoteKodos

Some kind of police investigation going on outside my apartment window. The area has been taped off, and the roads are closed. There's a fire extinguisher in the middle of the road, and what appears to be bloody rags (?) on the sidewalk. Cops are taking photos. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Excuse me, I don't mean to be "that guy" but we ordered this bucket of water room temperature, and it's *clearly* chilled. I expect a reduction if something can't be done.

Let's get out there, regardless of your indifference to Chow's first term. Let's just get out there and bury this meathead motherfucker in the grave of political obscurity he deserves.

There are a number of places claiming to be Toronto's oldest Barbershop. I got word that mine (The Men's Salon) is closing soon. Good news, one of the stylists may be moving to Truefitt & Hill,... which also claims to be Toronto's oldest :D

Magic: The Gathering nerd shit incoming. The crossovers are just dumb. Money-grabbing nonsense. To date there's been LOTR, Warhammer, Avatar, Marvel, The Walking Dead (?), and now Star Trek. It's not necessary. Like, at all.

Jordan Bitove's Toronto Star is not your grandpa's Toronto Star. Not too long ago, Doug and his cracked out brother boycotted the Star because it dared report on them. Not a problem now. Ford gave Bitove an online casino license less than a year after he bought the paper. 😉

Don't miss: Beaches—East York councillor Brad Bradford is now in a dead heat with Olivia Chow to be the next mayor of Toronto. The Star takes a look at his record. https://mrf.lu/2H5Gb

What the fuck is wrong with us? Right-wing politicians are now leading 7 of the 13 provinces and territories of this country, and we have an ostensible Liberal leading federally who's treating the country as a corporation. We're not citizens, we're employees. www.cp24.com/news/canada/...

Same. The irony is that some of the tech I had in the late 90s (Floppy Drive, HDD, CDs etc) still works. Current tech is subject to planned obsolescence and dies after a few years.

My first IBM-compatible PC in 1987 had a 12 MHz 80286 CPU, 512 kB of RAM, and a 44 MB hard drive. Even my first BlackBerry 25 years ago was more powerful and my current phone, tablet, and PC are all supercomputers relative to it.

Shopify's CEO is on X advocating for Brad Bradford to win because of a City of Toronto post about speed limits featuring two men and a stroller, something he clearly doesn't think will happen under Brad's rule. This is the guy who thinks rich people deserve more votes. This is who Brad attracts.

"AI will destroy humanity" has always and only been an attempt to distract from "AI will leak your login credentials to the internet"

Emily Bell@emilybell.bsky.social

Three weeks ago AI founders were all over the press making vague but portentous comments about the existential risks and power of their models. This week their models are part of a widespread security failure around critical systems such as your bank account..a more immediate and serious risk 1/
