I know it's kind of frowned upon between artists but as a graphics programmer I like experimenting with ray tracing

Bought a bass (left) that goes really well with my beloved guitar (right) so now I (behind the camera) just have to make music (in my head, very hard to find)

I'm begging someone to try their absolute hardest to earnestly genuinely mix a song that's just this I have to know that this sounds like

I am starting to kind of get why people rave on about MPCs so much. I bought an MPC 1000 like 3 years ago and every time I need some feature for messing about with a music idea in a jam, that thing has it featured, or at least JJOS does. I think I could make entire albums with just this device

Why do error messages not tell me what the error is anymore. Why is it always just "something went wrong try again"? Why do we deny users the ability to understand what went wrong, and tools to rectify that situation? This is especially egregious with web tech that rarely even give codes anymore

Brian Phillips@brianphillips.lol

I'm working on a column about the tech annoyances that drive us crazy, and I want it to be as universal as possible, so tell me yours! E.g. scanning a QR code to read a menu, never receiving the one-time passcode they supposedly texted you, "verify you're human" by IDing tiny motorcycles, etc.

Computers shouldn't be designed to appeal to people who do not want to understand them. Computers seem scary and technical because they are scary and technical. You either internalize that and learn to respect their rules or you simply stop dealing with them.

After 7,000 YEARS of HARD WORK. ENDLESS NIGHTS. we have finally made SUPER MARIO better than STUPID BABY NINTENDO could ever DREAM of. I am a VISIONARY.

After like 10 years of making music I'm just now realizing how much sequencing stuff on a screen fucking sucks compared to just playing the damn thing yourself lol

Imagine working at IGN trying to draft up a review for Ooga Booga on the Sega Dreamcast when you see the second plane hit the twin towers

Sorry, no jokes today. I've forgotten how to be funny, so I'm embarking on a long journey to the Andies to find my sens of humour again

Musescore is very funny. Most of the time it's insanely easy to grasp with just the docs and looking at it, and then sometimes you find a feature where it changes the notes in a bizarre way and then locks them in place so you can't fix it, and you have to find some bizarre workaround for it
