As of a few minutes ago, version 1.8 of Skyscraper Social is now available on the App Store. That’s right, it’s no longer Skyscraper for Bluesky. The app is now Skyscraper Social. For good reason. Version 1.8 adds Mastodon support with full unified timeline for all of your accounts!

I’m kinda tired of getting text messages from James Tallarico, if I’m being honest.

Finally, the world almost has another Bluesky client for smart watches!

Yes, @grubb.wtf is king.

I just lost my job, totally blindsided 🙁 I've been developing iOS since 2012, and now I've been deep into agentic Engineering, especially this year. My family situation requires me to work remotely. I live in Utah, USA. Please spread the word 🙏🏽 Any help? 🩷

Skyscraper will support @skyreader.app in 1.8.4, which should hopefully release next week!

I am going to judge based off today's analytics, that about 4 people in the world got an iPhone Duo with a launch day delivery. Interestingly enough, I had Duo hits to @getskyscraper.com pretty consistently from after announcement through last Friday, and then it stopped lol. Testing was over.

I'm not getting my Duo today, but now I can share the cool Skyscraper feature I built for it. Hopefully it works? In "Laptop" mode, Skyscraper will scroll through your posts automatically. The post is mirrored on the bottom screen like a water reflection. And you can touch it and interact with it!

Profile links are coming to @getskyscraper.com 1.8.4. Along with SteamDeck support, BBS support, a new D&D interactive gameplay mode, and free happy meal toy. That’s all a joke. But Profiles now render new Bluesky links in @getskyscraper.com 1.8.2 or 1.8.3, I can’t remember which.

We’ve all been there as Bears fans.

You’re looking great in @getskyscraper.com, Jack. :)

ST. LOUIS CITY WIN THE 2026 U.S. OPEN CUP! The first trophy in club history. Daniel Edelman scores the game-winning penalty.

Great ending to the US Open Cup. Congrats St. Louis City!!

Getting Red Dead Redemption 2 running on my Mac is not very great for @getskyscraper.com productivity.

Somewhere, on X, John Ternus is reading @gruber.foo’s review of the iPhone Duo and saying “I thought the culture here was remarkably friendly and inclusive.”

Love me some Railway. All jokes aside, they've been great for me the past ~12 months. Feeling for everyone in the industry today.

It’s a great Android client for Bluesky! Also, works great on the AYN Thor too. My favorite way to check in on Bluesky while I’m playing Dreamcast. A very important use case.

cc @gruber.foo, @snell.zone, @johnvoorhees.macstories.net, @markgurman.bsky.social FYI, learned the hard way today that if you make a typo on your address when using the Apple Lease program, your only option to correct it is to cancel the order and order again. Great for Duo preorders!

Heads up to anyone considering an Apple lease through Klarna. In the pre-order craziness for the Duo, I used the wrong apartment number for my apartment. Apple won’t fix this for me because “Klarna won’t let us change the shipping address.” They advise I just cancel and reorder.

Bear down!

Anyone else seeing a huge delay in approval for new macOS TestFlight builds? Not fun to work around and get test builds out.

Strong agree.

This new Apple Music Session of Social Distortion is pretty great, though wish it was more than 3 tracks. https://music.apple.com/us/album/ball-and-chain-apple-music-sessions/6813685806?i=6813685814

Just ran my first 5K in like ~8 years? Do…..I…….do I add run training and tracking into @getskyscraper.com?

Support your local Bluesky client!

I really enjoyed You Can See Everything.

Friends, like everyone else in the industry I'm looking for work. Details:

Apparently I did not get Nov 2-9, it said that but I guess I’m Nov 16th. :-(

Is Google Analytics broken for anyone else today?

Very excited to learn I typoed the city in which I live as Chixago. This definitely won’t be an issue with support and force me to re-order.

Delivers Nov 2-9th.

🍺 🧹🍺 🧹🍺 🧹🍺 🧹

No spoilers but yall need to see You Can See Everything.

Brb in 3 hours, about to watch You Can See Everything. Please everyone, no Skyscraper issues for 3 hours. Guys, please guys please.

Who else just also got an unsolicited DM from @attie.ai even though you don’t follow the account lol?

South Branch Reflections in Autumn. The Chicago River and Sears Tower this week 14 years ago.

Still no luck getting the App Store Connect promo pricing to work and propagate, so going to just run with this promo URL: https://apps.apple.com/redeem?ctx=offercodes&id=6754198379&code=MASTODON 1 year of Skyscraper Pro (with Mastodon support) for $8.99 USD. Works for anyone, even current subs!

Insta-buy! I've been playing with Skyscraper for a few weeks, and I'm psyched to have Pro. I was waiting to buy until my Duo arrives, but this got me over the line right now.

Since I can’t get the Promotional Offer of $9.99/year for @getskyscraper.com to propagate fast enough (may take 24 hours?), here is a promotional offer code. Because I’m tired of waiting, the code is even cheaper. First year for $8.99/year. Should stack for existing customers too! Add time!

Dev friends. I have a Promotional Offer I put on the @getskyscraper.com 1-year plan last night for a discount. But still seeing the standard costing on my test account when I attempt to sign up? Promotional Offers are the way to offer a discount to new users right? What am I missing?

that’s so sick!

I forgot to mention, 1.8 adds iPhone Duo support as well! It should look great there on Day 1! (or today, if anyone happens to work at a Fruit Company or got a review unit at a random event today).

I'd be amiss to not mention just how much better the Mac app is now, with better short cut support and better theme support. A TON of new small settings and customization options. And the app now supports 30 different languages. And I'm putting the app on promo! $10 Pro mode for the next week!

Here’s some of the release notes. On top of Mastodon support, the app now has a new Reader mode for Standard.Site, that includes full sync and support for RSS (with multiple sync services), and Micro.Blog! Cross-posting, unified notifications page, and much much more in 1.8.

Love to see RSS and Micro.blog support!

Oh other fun 1.8 features and facts. You can subscribe to your favorite YouTube channels in app, and then use Picture in Picture mode straight from the app. So watch a video while you check out your Bluesky or Mastodon feed! All without leaving the app lol.

This is an amazing app at an amazing bargain! I’m glad I can finally talk about it!
