One of my biggest gripes with the #iPhoneDuo is the lack of Face ID, but I have to admit, the "unlock with Apple Watch" toggle is starting to feel very fast. I don't know if that's real or perceived, but it's starting to feel close to FaceID speed and it's removing one of the biggest objections.

My top 2 wishes for @bsky.app 1. Passkeys support. This emailing 2FA codes is for the birds. 2. iPhone Duo support. I’ll be patient, really. I know the app is React Native, but adaptive layouts for the inner screen shouldn’t be out of reach, especially if the iPad work is already done.

Today is my thirtieth Phishiversary. Three decades ago I pulled into a sedan with five other people and headed to Hampton with no ticket to see @phish.com. That was a full lifetime ago!

This thread got me thinking about people who go to an @umphreys.com VIP set but don't feel it counts as a full "show." So here's the start of identifying them in the @allthings.umphreys.com user interface. Not sure how deep I'll go, but for now:

In the last few weeks, I redesigned @umphreys.com, then released a new @allthings.umphreys.com and umbase.umphreys.com, all with a unified custom style. Super excited about brining these sites up to date.

Question: is it better to be chronically late by 15 minutes, or chronically early by 15 minutes? I think conventional wisdom is "if you're early you're on time, if you're on time, you're late." But I think always showing up early, especially to someone's house, is also potentially rude.

My first 3 attempts at using Image Playground on iPadOS 27 gave me "An error occurred creating this image." Not inspiring confidence.

That was a pretty boring #WWDC keynote, but at the same time, I think the family-management features are amazing and much needed. I was most excited about Golden Gate addressing all of the Tahoe UI garbage, which is pretty nerdy. I want those improvements right now. Hope the PSotU is more exciting.

The AppleTV show "Margo's Got Money Trouble" is great. The finale was super satisfying. Do recommend.

It's almost impossible to choose a favorite #KGLW song given the expanse of genres covered, but every time I hear "Blue Morpho" I an entranced and get convinced that it's the one. It's probably not. But for this 3m51s chunk of time it is.
