Up next, @sarahoconnorft.ft.com We are not Machines. Essential reading, and I like the split into 3 section, Mind, Body & Soul. I really hope the follow up is on the environment, Earth, Wind & Fire.

The wait is over… Anti-Fascist Economics is out now! 🌹🌾 Writing a book is a very lonely journey, and yet no one can do it alone. I’m so, so grateful to my family and friends who have had my back throughout this process and for all the guidance from my editors across three countries and my agency.

Inflation doesn't work the way we are told it does. It is not simply the result of supply and demand. It's a crisis of corporate power. It's a crisis of livelihoods. If democratic governments continue to ignore this reality, fascism will continue to rise. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wj_G...
Great article in the @ftweekend.com magazine about AI and music. As @sarahoconnorft.ft.com explained in her talk on Friday, humans take great pleasure in completing hard things, and the article argues that we want to go and watch musicians playing those hard things live! #boycottSuno

Interesting evening @bookmarksbookshop.bsky.social listening to @sarahoconnorft.ft.com talk about her new book 'We Are Not Machines'. Some good questions also that introduced some fascinating case studies. Nice to catch up with @busecon.bsky.social. Looking forward to reading it now. #EconSky

Another great thread by @doctorow.pluralistic.net. Ford is fascinating. You can see why Chaplin lampooned him in 'Modern Times'. We show a video in class of workers being sacked at the old Ford Factory for smiling ☺ & when they went to the loo, the contents of the toilet would be checked! 💩 #EconSky
Henry Ford thought that he was so rich that he could build Brazilian worker housing whose windows faced the same direction as the worker housing he'd built in Dearborn, Michigan.

There’s a lot of grumbling in London about new flats being sold to Chinese investors. But you never hear from the Chinese buyers. I asked Helen Gao to travel around Beijing property fairs and learn how you sell life in Woolwich to the Chinese elites. www.londoncentric.media/p/london-pro...

In all the conversations about how to get kids back into school there is not enough focus on the syllabus itself. Why are GCSE kids, for example, still widely compelled to do all three sciences but not allowed all three Art, Music, Drama, given these industries are just as lucrative for our economy?
