THIS IS ALL TO SAY: if you find yourself not seeing as many hand crafted artisans at the con(s) you frequent, that doesn’t mean they don’t exist, it might mean they didn’t get in! Good cons want your feedback, if you want more hand made, tell them! :)

Periodic reminder! I make all the prints on paper I sell by hand, each color individually, with screens I burn or blocks I carve and package them all myself. I don’t print my own shirts, however I have never hidden this fact and don’t lie and say I do! I use a vendor who lives in walking distance>

Sometimes it feels like i want to be wanted more than i want to actually put effort into making and keeping up relationships. Its easier to just not and man that sucks, i gotta work on that

Also theres such a weird balance where im trying to reduce phone usage so i have locks on my apps, but that also reduces social time but is social media even quality socialization its just posting and liking and getting likes and like. Not actually having any relationship.

Like yes i wanna make more friends! But the idea of like. Figuring out communicating with a new person freaks me out and im like. Uhm. How do you go from the polite 'howre you! That sounds so stressful):' stage of talking to sending each other memes and being casual ????

Im really trying to remember how to be genuine and like. Even remember who i actually am. I feel like ive been performing what i think would make me more appealing for so long i dont know who i even am anymore. And working food service in a small rural town has really not helped lol

Bird in the house My sister would sometimes leave the door open for hours even when no one was in the living area and yet ofc when i leave the door open for like half an hour while working on cleaning my car a bird gets in

Man i gotta make more artist friends. And just talk to more people in general. I just have so much trouble actually Talking to people and having real conversations... and i always get that 'ok youre doing too much and are getting annoying now' feeling holding me back ):

ill be like 'ohh this artist is so good and so much bigger than me and they probably dont wanna hear from me. No way anyone could possibly think that about me tho, surely everyone can tell im just a weird nerd' as if all artists dont feel like Theyre the weird nerd and the others are the cool ones

When one of my nation's chiefs, Yonaguska, was asked of what he thought of the bible he said "It's a pretty good book. I wonder why Christians aren't better people if they've had it for so long."

Sometimes I find myself fretting ‘oh fuck what if someone finds the ref image I used for this comm and recognizes it and Gets Mad At Me’ as if that’s at all realistic lol I just worry constantly How’re you supposed to draw something if you’re just guessing at what it actually looks like….

LaurenWalshArt@laurenwalshart.bsky.social

Use reference. I’m serious. I get it that somehow you or someone convinced you that using reference is “cheating.” It’s not. You are just hindering yourself.

Today is indigenous peoples day. It is crucial to remember and talk about how there is still an active genocide against the tribal nations that were here for eons before this country colonized their land. Broken treaties and needless cruelty STILL HAPPEN. Sacred sites are under attack right now.

Hiya! Since it's almost Halloween, it's time for one of my "favorite" spooky season PSAs! Don't buy taxidermy bats! None of them are ethically sourced, most are endangered, and the market for taxidermy or freeze dried bats is descimating local populations. Etsy, ebay, curio shows, none are okay.

PSA for today in particular: the singular form of “aurochs” is “aurochs,” not “auroch.” (Related to the word “ox”). I made this mistake when writing my books till it was caught by beta readers. But today the floodgates of the typo were unleashed by someone, and the future might never recover.

I fantasize about a 3d printed 'skull' with teeth with foam muzzle over it so you could pull back the lips and see more teeth. Ive also considered the foam nose to be detached and magnets allow for a more chill relaxed expression and a pulled back toothy goofy grin. Idkkk how feasible any of that is

I do miss sewing.. though im sure suit making technique has advanced considerably since i last looked into it hah. I feel like teo would work best as a 3d printed base. Then i gotta remember how to 3d model and find someone to print it hahah

Looks like the parts that are broken are mostly just the troughs for the elements and hopefully some pins and kiln cement is all i need to get this back in working order! Not gunna try to mess with it until i can actually test it out and make sure it works at all though

🌾 bull 🌾@bucephali.bsky.social

It's definitely seen better days though. I mean, it was free so its better than nothing but now i gotta figure out if its more trouble than its worth. Lots of broken bricks and sagging elements
