Got into a serious vibe coding flow state this afternoon. I have no idea if the code is genius or an unholy mess, but it works. Future me is going to have some questions.

There's a certain state of flow you hit late at night where you stop thinking and just start vibe coding. It's just you, the editor, and a fragile prayer that it all compiles in the morning.

At the risk of sounding corny, hope really is a practice. I’m as much of a cynical depresso as the next person. The reason why I find doomerism so toxic is that it forecloses the possibility of a better future. The devils want us to fall into despair.

When everything you post is simultaneously digested by the industrial surveillance machine and large AI companies, and nothing you read online makes any sense anyway, maybe it's time to just post straight up nonsense fifth forty seven egg sandwich orange just yesterday didn't apply but arose

the thing that bothers me to no end whenever anything like this comes up, is that all this data collection of citizens via personal devices is a huge issue that there should be laws against. but the danger is only ever spoken about when it's chinese.

Today I introduced my first bill in the U.S. Senate, and its to ban Chinese vehicles in the U.S. market. Learn more here: www.detroitnews.com/story/busine...

This elderly man showed up to support an anti-trans bill in my home state and then, because he had to wait hours to testify, he was stuck listening to queer folks rally against it By the time it was his turn to speak, he'd changed his mind Never doubt that speaking out can change hearts and minds

Hint: it’s not okay when they do it to Palestinian green card holders, it’s not okay when they do it to German tourists, it’s not okay when they do it to Mexican people regardless of citizenship, it is not okay. Ever.

So they removed the black chairman of the Joint Chiefs in the middle of his 4-year tour, without cause, and they're seeking to replace him with a white **retired** Air Force three-star general who lacks the requisite experience as a service chief or combatant commander? Huh, how about that

Instead, health officials say CDC Director Monarez relayed orders by the Trump administration to come up with research to publish this week about the health risks from wildfires, days after President Trump criticized California's Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom's handling of fires in the state.

This is good right?

If you're one of the 40 million people with student loans, Elon Musk’s team may have gotten access to your Social Security number, income data, and personal information. I'm leading 18 senators in an investigation into DOGE’s actions at the Department of Education.

They’ve called armed federal officers to the scene. We aren’t dangerous. We are here to represent our people. To defend public education. This is an authoritarian regime. You cannot block members of Congress from entering the Department of Education.

Ah shit! I wanted to brag about how much fiber it has (32% of your daily value!) but instead I had to mention the names of three corporations #capitalism

ICYMI: I talked to federal employees across eight agencies about the internal chaos they're experiencing because of Trump/Musk and how they feel going forward in their jobs. A clear theme? They are scared -- and also pissed and digging in for a fight. "Fuck that." www.huffpost.com/entry/federa...

So on this question of “doxing” of Musk gizmocrats, I was talking to staffers to today detailing one of the gizmocrats who is largely on his own rewriting the code base of one of the US governments most mission critical computer systems. And as it was described to me the staff programmers …

DOGE employees illegally "ran the USAID through a wood chipper" this weekend and now reports are starting to say they are in the DOE. It technically requires an act of congress to dissolve but Elon has assured us the president will succeed. www.newsweek.com/elon-musk-wa...

@steveinskeep.bsky.social you don't have to use the word on Morning Edition but I'd expect slightly more alarm in your voice this morning! I love getting the news from you but I don't think your coverage today meaningfully described what's happening.

multiple people on here told me yesterday that I need to clean out my follower list. I was too appalled at the suggestion to use my time that way to even try. Now I'm trying--I don't see any way to remove a follower. My hope is still that Bluesky can fix the bot issue

Tbh I don't like that Elon's battshittery gets attributed to his Ketamine use bc it's not drugs that makes people bad. But lately I can't help but feel like this dude is completely dissociated, living with a God complex inside a simulation, causing chaos for the fun of it all.
