Portland should aim for a minimum 2% average annual growth rate. People already want to live in Portland, we just need to make it cheap and easy to build homes. ποΈποΈπ²π²π¦«

Ok, so I like Jeremy and think you should absolutely rank him in your top 3... but I do not understand the opposition to a power line to WashCo. Like, yes some of its power is gonna be used for data centers, but even without that there is load growth in WashCo that needs to be met.
Portland General Electric is commenting on my posts as far back as March 2025 shilling their βnewβ version of the Harborton Project. The new proposalβs key change is a $5 million remediation fund to replace the up to 20 acres of Forest Park theyβll clear to build transmission lines for data centers.

In other words: this should be a legal place to put a modern electric elevator
On Tue., Nov. 3, at 4 p.m. ET, I'm presenting my IBC proposal to a committee work group (one of many) to allow elevators to open into exits if dwelling units are also allowed to open directly into them. Essentially it would remove the "corridor penalty" for adding an elevator to a single-stair...

In Wildwood's battle scene, both sides clashed in a mid-off. With both suffering from poor tactics, as niether played to their forces streagths, nor took advantage of favorable topography. In this thread I'll discus how both forces could have won while reducing their own casualties. 1/78

Anyone good at GIS wanna figure out Portland's figure?
Some interesting observations here: Nashville and Austin both have job geographies that look more coastal than Sun Belt, suggesting investment in public transit there would be very successful. Chicago and Philly, despite strong downtowns, suffer from inner ring decay. Dallas is The Bad Place.

I understand why @counciloravalos.bsky.social has an interest in keeping SDCs as a revenue stream, but the legal theory behind them is that they offset the infrastructure costs created by a development, not to fix pre-existing East Portland infrastructure issues. www.opb.org/article/2026...

City Council delayed deliberations again, it has been set for the 29th of October. Perhaps if theres gonna be more time then it'd be worth doing some more ammendments to the plan...?
No one spoke in opposition to the nee unlimited height option. Thr closest was a representative from thr Goose Hollow NA, who basically said they dont like it but can live with it since it excludes view corridors. There was no council discussion on it today due to time constraints.
An interesting thing I heard from BPS staff yesterday was that they have an ongoing planning project dealing with waste management for infill housing. Its the first I've heard of this and I see nothing online about it, but with Inner Eastside for All it strikes me as super important to engage with.
