I have met quite a lot of cool or fucked up people through Airbnb, it was a blast for a few years. I can't remember the last time I actually met a host though, everywhere has lockboxes now.
it's hard to describe to young folks how cool airbnb was when it first launched. just weirdos and spare rooms for like twenty bucks. we stayed at a guy's house in oregon who was a "bear safety expert" and when we asked him what to do if a bear attacked you he replied, completely seriously "i dunno."
He is such a galactic dickhead
Trump: "Ramaswamy put up a very powerful Ad about a mother saying that her daughter, Acton, is a liar, and much worse. The Press is trying to get him to 'take down the Ad.' Frankly, anybody whose mother spoke about daughter that way would normally lead to the daughter being precluded from serving"
Assuming this is true, it is quite mad that the US' treatment of billionaires have created a situation where a private citizen is essentially running their own foreign policy in a war zone that the US is involved in, and is also the primary funder of the governing party. That's fucked up.

At an all inclusive resort for the first time in my life, and not having to pay or sign anything when you get a drink is a curious experience. Developing a theory that that is what life is like for the billionaire class. Someone else always handles the money, so their entire life feels all inclusive
One reason to ignore Ed Zitron on AI is that he appears to not know basic stuff about how the products of the companies he's criticising.
How did they materially turn around their costs so suddenly? The product they sell must have suddenly - in the space of mere months - both accelerated its revenues while massively reducing its costs in a way that doesn't seem possible given 2025. I guess we'll find out
Maritime law does not fuck about www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1990/3... "A person guilty of an offence under this section is liable on conviction on indictment to imprisonment for life."

The Home Secretary should be relieved of her duties and the entire operational command of HIW Police should be subject to disciplinary action. Thugs are currently feeling empowered to attempt pogroms because police continue to be disinterested in preventing them. It really is that simple.
Well at least we've heard the worst of this story oh wait the mob got into the hotel onto the floor the players were on and were knocking on bedroom doors. I think I'm moving to rage now. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
