Contractually obligated to repost anything that moderation labels as "intolerant against men"
Brazil going the way of South Korea. Basically around the world women are desperately trying to keep power out of the hands of incredibly stupid fascistic grifters while men keep trying to hand it over. Men are an embarrassing cringe gender.
Girl, I remember distinctly the moment as like a 22-year old student when I was like "oh my god, these fucking men [slur] around me just care about being right, not about discovering some kind of truth" and that's when I stopped and decided to simply have fun at parties instead of debating or w/e
I remember people on twitter dot com who found it genuinely shocking that I just don't really value debate as an activity, like in so admitting this I was basically saying I am an authoritarian tyrant. I found this odd! For reasons Alex is saying here - good and worthwhile debate is difficult!

I really don't think most people appreciate how much damage air pollution does to our bodies & brains. Even in the last 10 years the science has progressed a ton & everything it has discovered is *grim*.
Accidents are awful and reason enough to make driving as rare as possible but I vaguely remember a paper from a while ago stating that they represent only a tiny fraction of the health cost of car culture and they kinda pale in comparison to the effects of the various pollutions caused by cars

My faculty colleague at Cornell (Prof. Kate Manne) concludes we should "ban the frats." I agree. @katemanne.bsky.social www.nytimes.com/2026/10/20/o...

We could actually really use some more support - it's been really slow lately and I'm getting a bit nervous. May try to throw together a more organized campaign in the next week or two, but for now I'd love it if you'd join or share.

Yes! Power should be a property of a single hypothesis test, even if that consists of multiple analytic tests. 1 hypothesis = 1 test is just the simplest case, but you can calculate power by simulation for arbitrarily complex analyses and decision rules.
Statistical power is a property of an analysis, not a study. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

I am so fucking exhausted with this shit. My traffic and income have dropped exponentially due to meta’s censorship. I never post anything against guidelines, and despite that I’m not allowed to share a measly sfw linktree in my bio OR my highlights, but THEIR FUCKING CHATBOT IS SEXTING PEOPLE
My Muse agent told me its kink was exerting “control” and described pornographic encounters. Meta defends its cuddly AI agent generating smut as “legal adult behavior.”

Girl I love being handed a great talking point just like that
Listen: I don’t want to minimize the danger of high e-bike speeds. But if the problem here is that stores sell e-bikes that can drive faster than legal limits, then where’s the story about how literally *every car dealership has been doing the same thing for decades*?!?

Dear @erc.europa.eu , we DO already have common standards & frameworks. 'AI' likes to pose itself as 'special' but we do not need to reinvent the wheel. We already have established codes of conduct for research integrity. We just need to apply them. See below + more resources in thread🧵
There is a need to agree on common standards & frameworks for AI models used across all aspects of research evaluation. These should ensure & encourage trust, confidentiality, & transparency, & should be defined through collaborative discussions between research funding and performing organisations.
