This basically my dads build.. oh but just the torso cause he actually takes care of himself and worked out his whole life so he doesn’t look like someone had fun with the sliders on an RPG character builder

Solomon@solomonrmissouri.com

What an amazing build

I’m sorry I’ll fully admit to having a bit of a lead foot but that’s on me. I don’t care if it’s a cop or a camera, own what you did wrong. Also getting rid of speed cameras around schools is the worst thing Ford did (and again, I will own to not being the best driver). Rules are rules.

Ok so I don’t have a problem with expanding Billy Bishop per se, but my hobby horse has always been: build a proper intermodal transportation hub at Pearson, and put dedicated bus lanes on the 401 and 400 so taking GO from 519/905/705 etc actually beats driving.

Don’t know the details but Ontarians if you can get Sheringham anything from BC, do it.

Okanagan Spirits makes a nice bourbon. They can start calling it bourbon officially now that international trade norms don’t mean shit.

gork is this good?

Wow imagine the odds that you could train an Opus 4.6 class model in just 3 months with only $25 million and do such a good job that your model itself thinks it’s Claude Opus in the reasoning trace. There’s no other explanation for that except just being better at AI than those lazy Americans.

Chris Paxton@cpaxton.bsky.social

Open weight gemini 5/opus 4.6 trained solely on Huawei Ascend chips. Its so over

I’ve done a lot of work on natural capital. The idea is to recognize the value of nature, natural resources, etc. so people make better decisions (hey that forest provides way more benefits than another subdivision, for example). The idea of actually charging for it is disgusting/against the point)

Hard to disagree with this but as a Canadian I’d add G&M and CBC somewhere between A and B-tier

Hierarchy from the perspective of a non-finance news consumer. Note: all Opinion is excluded. S-tier (can’t go without): Bloomberg A-tier (narrower coverage but high quality): FT, WSJ, Reuters, AP B-tier (good but myopic): NPR, ABC, NBC, CNBC, MSNBC C-tier (biased): NYT, WaPo, CBS D-tier: huge list

Share an iconic movie or TV house or building! Parkwood Estate (Oshawa ON) as seen in about a trillion movies and TV shows (including The Boys and Billy Madison(!))

trying to play peekaboo with my child but he's a European diplomat: me: where'd daddy go? baby: we must articulate a post-daddy vision of strategic autonomy me: peekaboo! baby: my historic relationship with my father is stable despite recent troubles

This one of those books that really stuck with me. Highly recommended (fair warning it’s not a light read). Would be fascinating to see something similar done today.

This really underlines a flaw in issue-specific uncertainty indices: if media focus shifts to another, more impactful risk, coverage falls and the index falls. It's like a doctor breaking your arm to distract from the pain in your foot.

Forever burned in my mind. This album and Roxy Music - Avalon were the only two cassettes my dad brought for a 12 hour road trip to Winnipeg.

Today in 1983, Pretenders peak at #5 with “Back On The Chain Gang” — their highest charting single. “The perfect song,” Pitchfork once wrote. “It’s the sound of a band regrouping after tragedy, turning grief into something communal and cathartic.” @thepretenders.com @chrissiehynde.com 💕

There is nothing I miss more from my past jobs vs my current gig than access to a Terminal. Haver a close 2nd.

Bloomberg is the cable bundle of financial data. It's a one-stop shop for every conceivable financial market, private data, news feeds, and a social network. Even leaving aside the last part, beating their head start in data/news aggregation is a massive, massive mountain to climb.

It’s kind of insane how little attention Valve has had for so long. Basically a money printing machine. I actually really respect gaben on a lot of levels (Linux support for instance, going their own way on hardware) HL3 when tho
