Key thing to realize about being the new person is that sometimes people will teach you things because you need to learn, and sometimes they'll teach you things (you already know) because they're learning how to teach, and that's fine

Having issues with Codex saying “You’ve reached your codex usage limits for code reviews” wrongly and this is exactly the problem with AI support - I went through the chat box once, got a human finally who said I had to go back through the chat box. Then the chat box closes itself as duplicate.

Are the app stores still anti-web view? For example if I want to have a MAUI app using a WebView pointed at my web application but with limited functionality.

"Gartner predicts that by next year, half of the companies that fired workers for AI are going to hire them back. Also, 9 months ago, Microsoft…proclaimed that 30% of their code was written by AI, and since then, we've seen some of the worst software issues at the company in its history." 1/2

I’ve got a feeling a lot of the latter half of 2020’s and early 2030’s is going to be AI cleanup, whether by AI-assisted tools or human intervention. It’ll be the Great Unsloppening.

Talking about whether AI can replace software developers is the same as talking about whether AI can replace artists, salesmen, or otherwise. There is no replacement for human expression. There is no replacement for human connection.

If we're pointing fingers at "who should be replaced" look at AI usage patterns, most non-VIP positions find AI tools to be mediocre at best. Who is using AI the most? The top brass. Maybe, perhaps, its those jobs that could be outsourced to AI.

I want my AI to be able to scrub my toilet, do my laundry, and take out my trash. Chores that are required but are a waste of our ability to express, to co-mingle, to grow.

One senior dev + AI replacing 3 junior engineers might look great on a graph (as dubious as the claim even us) and seems to be the focus of many a middle manager these days. I think it shows how uninspired, bought, and borrowed their ideas are already to believe AI can replace people.

Volunteering at Pinewood Derby for my Girl Scout troop + service unit in Ankeny today - and of course I’m still on the computer 😛. It’s incredible what a few volunteers and some elbow grease can pull off. Thanks to everyone who showed up early, hauled tracks, and made it a great day for the kids. 🙌

A while ago, I wrote about how to automatically deploy a passwordless Azure SQL database server using Bicep, EF Core migrations, and Azure Pipelines. Hot off the press, here’s a similar post for Postgres - using Bicep, EF Core migrations, and GitHub Actions! www.bensampica.com/post/postgre...

There’s been some great improvements on Minimal APIs support for binding complex objects with FromForm. Any planned support for binding arrays like int[] to respect initialization defaults like an empty array instead. #dotnetconf

Trying to get the Raspberry Pi GPIO & I2C capabilities to work inside a container has been a “fun” exercise that I’m still failing at. If youre reading this and have expertise or an example, hit me up PLZ 😭.

I’ve got the entire thing working except the security presence. It all works if I run the container as root. If I run it as anything else, group added or not, it doesn’t. 🤔

With .NET aspire is there a way to force sub-dependencies of containers to only startup when their parents are started? For example, the Aspire Azure Service Bus container requires azure-sql-edge internally. When I place WithExplicitStart on the ServiceBus resource, the edge container still starts.
