I *think* this'll be the last offseason in its current form, as the goal is to have it actually hosted on FanGraphs next year as an FG feature like everything else within RosterResource, instead of as a Google doc as it's been. Lockout prep made this really sneak up on me!

In case you haven't noticed, Jon has added two very cool RosterResource-related features to the FanGraphs player pages. Under the RosterResource tab, you'll see "Contract History" and the newest-added "Position Player Dashboard". Here's info on the new dashboard ...

Blog post with a full explanation TK, but the Position Player Dashboard is now live on @fangraphs.com player pages! All hail Versatile King Javier Sanoja: www.fangraphs.com/players/javi...

And I'll shill because it's 2 am on Monday on the East Coast: That Enrique Hernández quote doesn't happen if I don't go on the road, and I don't go on the road without the support of our members. If you're not a member but you love baseball, I am confident you'll get your $80 a year worth

New thing we're doing at RosterResource @fangraphs.com in today's age of all-hands-on-deck postseason pitching! As starters make their last scheduled starts for a playoff round, we're moving them to the bullpen so you can see how they've been used recently and how available they could be:

Perhaps not the best timing considering how the game is going so far but I've updated the White Sox's RosterResource page to reflect that starting pitching is fake and every pitcher needs to be ready all the time, apparently:

🚨We now have 2027 payrolls on RosterResource!🚨 We won't default to them until after the postseason, but 2027 payrolls are launched on @fangraphs.com with: • Arb projections via MLBTradeRumors • An explainer at the bottom with CBA-less assumptions Let me know if any questions!!!

Per a source familiar with the wording of MLB's most recent CBA proposal, the proposal includes the following mechanisms for minimum payroll and salary floor. Words in, formatting of, and emphasis within the screenshot are mine, and used due to character limits:

after another round of injured list placements/activations since this great @jon-becker.com piece, the Giants' injured list is now up to 23 (!!!) players, which is just ridiculous entering the final week, here's a rough league-wide IL snapshot via @fangraphs.com Roster Resource:

Minor little RosterResource update I wanted to highlight nonetheless: the SP section of the team pages will now have Xs next to both pitchers in a piggyback situation, and SP following an opener will have an X now as well. Should be easier to read/follow now!

Weighing in to say that the most pro-player argument I’ve heard (and talked about on @tippingpitchespod.com, on which Jen has appeared many times) is that realistically the revenue can only go to the players or owners; who would you rather it go to? “Pay teachers more” is not an option

I truly need people to understand that not every MLB player is a multi-millionaire there are so many players making prorated league minimum and also labor is still labor. if you argue against labor, you're anti-labor.

If there's an extended owner-imposed lockout I would feel awful for fans, stadium workers, people in front offices, people like me working in the industry, etc, all of whom make less $. It's perfectly human and normal and empathetic to feel that way. But we're not a party in the negotiations!

Players make a LOT of money, for sure. $29K for a week in the majors on the league min is awesome! That is also part of why the PA’s framing is largely “getting our fair share as the labor that people tune into watch” rather than “the league minimum is only $780k”

Today I put in a long day at the baseball stats factory, writing an article that included the initialism "BLTR". Cracked open my mailbox, saw the paper of record had come, and was scandalized to find the following
