<the kind of stoned you can really only be in a hotel room> television commercials offer a look into a fantasy world that's devoid of advertising. I watched this prescription drug family attend a baseball game in a stadium where EVERYONE was wearing solid color shirts, no branding visible anywhere.

Little does he know I've been training my entire life to be able to fight the founding fathers in hell

I hate when I'm talking to somebody and I say "how are you?" and they say "can't complain". bitch yes you can! I do it all the time! watch, I'll do it right now

Hunter X Hunter rocks The only reason I didn't read this sooner is that I had a roommate who was obsessed with Hisoka in a very unhealthy way and I didn't want to read the book about the "pedophile murder clown who shoots light from his dick"

ok non-tech ppl might be hearing some scary things about "critical vulnerabilities" involving certificates. the main thing you need to know, without getting down in the weeds about it, is that the fourth seal is broken. lo, a rider approacheth upon a pale steed, and his name is Death

I'd hate to create characters only for them to get added to capitalist horrors like Fortnite or Roblox. Every day I understand Bill Watterson more

Every year Steam Nextfest gets full of more and more AI slop. I'm starting to become uninterested in new games. Learned last night that Hypernet Explorer used AI generated stuff and I completely lost interest in it

I'm not kidding about the new games thing. I have a backlog of 1000 games I have not played on steam. Over a decade of game releases I have not touched. I'm just gonna play my backlog

Business Insider confirms it: Amazon has warehouses of GPUs that can’t be installed, and is buying them so far in advance that a supply chain team said they “didn’t have a clear forecasted path” to installing them. www.businessinsider.com/amazon-220-b...

I'm really homing in on the Reporter because there's already a newspaper in the story, and I think it would make a lot of sense for a reporter to be on the scene to cover The Ritual

Unfortunately there are people who care about trans people having rights who are not trans people themselves and I’m sure that the number will suddenly grow exponentially post election when candidates have lost and you’re looking for someone to blame that isn’t the candidates themselves

When you pay off your home your house magically rips itself out of the ground and floats into the sky, no longer connected to the roads. You live in the elderly sky community now and you must fight to survive

“I’m old. I’ve paid my home off,” said Ray Warner, a 72-year-old Akron resident. “Why would I pay property tax?” Across the country, homeowners are asking the same question and revolting against property taxes at a scale not seen in a half century.

there is a kind of collective suicidal exhaustion in the 70+ crowd as though the unspoken wish is to beat the end of civilization by being entombed alive with their family and possessions to all die together, the friction of living finally at an end, suburban pharoahood culminated

He's the son of a former Bobby Jindal staffer whose consultant work was instrumental in getting Hawley elected.

As a Muslim who has been accused of dual loyalty and asked to denounce everything from ISIS to the Iranian state, I breathed a sigh of relief that I think I’d been holding in for like two decades watching this.

There are so, so many verified diaries of white Union soldiers at the beginning of the war saying "I don't know about this, I condemn the deplorable violence" and then they get down there and see slavery with their own eyes and immediately go "John Brown was right we gotta kill these motherfuckers"

Erik Loomis@erikloomis.bsky.social

And we can certainly condemn his violence. But let’s step back and remember just how horrible slavery was. On December 20, 1858, Brown, who had briefly returned to Kansas, led a party into Missouri to free slaves.

Doing anything to not talk about the current administration I guess
