My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

if voting didn't matter they wouldn't be working so hard to stop you

The long-serving strongman leader of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, has conceded defeat in an election that pitted him and his right-wing party against a diverse student-led opposition movement that spent two years protesting his government.

Unrelated to the actual point of the article in LRT, Lewis said on twitter that he's a "Mass Effect 1 on PS3 kind of guy". Which I'm personally taking to be the most Inside Baseball way of saying he's never played Mass Effect at all.

Yes I know ME1 was released on the PS3 store in 2012, but I simply do not believe full price on an eshop back then was a common way to check out Mass Effect when used ME2 discs existed.

I would be absolutely thrilled to see the federal government actually help our creative industries after nothing but year after year of layoffs and cuts.

Bioware should have gotten a cool death instead of just getting tossed against a wall.

I'm actually very grateful Veilguard happened at all. Do I wish DA had gotten a stronger finale? Of course I do. But we got an ending - one that did a surprisingly decent job at wrapping things up, all things considered. I'm glad Dragon Age wasn't left completely hanging before Bioware died.

I consider us lucky that Veilguard managed to happen at all after a decade of development hell, and even luckier for how much there is about it to love. As disappointing final chapters go, we certainly could have done worse.

I guess a studio being shut down is better than folks being forced to pilot a shambling corpse of a company In the end, games are just games, a studio is just a name. I hope the actual people who made both are able to retain their passion. if it's been buried I hope one day that it will be exhumed

There is something so soul crushing about creating art that pushes the needle in the games industry, only to be thanked by using the capital gained from said art to push the ones who created it out of a job.

Not that it is relevant to the question of lethal force in this case, which is in no way excusable, but the store never produced evidence of shoplifting and the mother was never charged with a crime. My heart breaks for this poor baby.

JUST IN: The police shooting that killed 1-year-old Kohen Wiley as he sat in his mother’s lap in a Walmart parking lot in Senatobia, Miss., in June “was justified,” Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch’s office said on Monday. Her office will not charge the white officer who shot the child.

We already have flying cars. They're called helicopters. They're really expensive and there are good reasons you have to have a pilot license and work with air traffic control to fly them. Putting jets on a sedan is not going to result in a better vehicle or transportation experience in any way.

I think this is the first time in my life that the leader of a major political party, Provincial or Federal, has been younger than me. Is weird.

I don't envy Emily Lowan's position, being a 26yo woman leading the Greens. Talk about fighting an uphill battle before you even get a chance to speak. I think she's holding her own though!
