We’d been wanting to formalize this, and with the new site we have: the Aphera Method, which is what the app is built around. We believe that most editing can be done quickly, with one deep mode. You can learn more about it here: aphera.co/method #Photography #Aphera #macOS

Aphera 1.8 has been released: Transfer from SD cards, view your file structure in projects. Transfer is a big feature for us, and Ryan went deep into building it. Here’s the how and the decisions behind it. aphera.co/now/transfer/

After a great first Shop Hours, we're doing it again. Shop Hours 002 is this Friday, October 23, 2026 from 10-11AM PST. Come chat, ask us questions, we’ll show app things, and we’re here for you. us06web.zoom.us/meeting/regi...

Thanks to all who came by Shop Hours! Some great questions and it helps us think about what you’re looking for and are interested in. We’ll be doing it again.

✨Shop Hours! After two good livestreams, we’d like to have a bit more direct participation with photographers and our current users.First is this Friday, October 15m 2026 from 10-11AM PST. Registration here, but we’ll also share a public link as Friday gets closer. us06web.zoom.us/meeting/regi...

Of course, we bungled the date in the image. The 16th! Friday! We're human after all. I mean, we are right?

Correction: the capture-time bug is for cameras with a timezone offset. Re-import *is* useful for fixing times after travel, however.

After a small shipping hiatus (heads down, doing the work on some bigger features), v1.6 is out today. Lots of quality of life improvements we really like: Project preferences and memory, collect into groups, and refreshed sidebar and toolbar. aphera.co/changelog/ap...

Feels… quiet around here. But not quite behind the scenes — building lots of things, addressing the roadmap, resulting in some larger efforts and features. We are excited.

V1.5 brings histogram, waveform, and color scopes to Aphera, which are useful tools to gauge how “balanced” your image is. We're still fans of letting your eye do the judging though. Take a look in the latest update, now with 30-day trials.

👀 Coming soon (you asked for histogram, but we're doing more if you're used to scopes…)

A friendly reminder from your neighborhood... photo editor. Launch pricing ends by the end of the day!

Tried out @aphera.co on the mac as a lightroom/photomator alternative, I really like it and I'd recommend it if your needs/perspective is like mine:

My friends at @aphera.co just launched a new photo editor made for photographers. I've been beta testing for a while and I really like it and today became a paying customer. Looking forward to upgrading my photography workflow with Aphera. [not an ad, I just like it]

Been beta testing @aphera.co for a while now. It's the first photo editor since Aperture (RIP) that feels wholly for photographers and, more importantly, the craft of photography. If you've been holding out for something like that, this is a real gem.

Roosevelt Island, NY. Developed with the Solaris Look in Aphera, available reaaaaaaalllll soon. #photography #macOS

Miles gets it! We're definitely putting more control in the user to decide how *their* images should look rather than allowing knobs and controls to dictate what *should* look good.

I know I'm on this @aphera.co kick rn, but I love the no built-in "auto" controls: no auto exposure, auto levels, auto straighten, etc. It's just you and your eyes to decide what looks good.

Is it fitting to say these images are 🔥?

Valley of Fire, NM Feb 2026 Getting my bearings with @aphera.co and really, really loving the keyboard-focused workflow and tools. Definitely finding the fun in post-processing again!

Paris and Épernay photo dump. Low-effort pics, but @aphera.co has transformed many. I tried the beta months ago but stalled as it was RAW-focused and I'm no pro; now it supports JPG, so I jumped back in and found my flow immediately. A joy to use, will be indispensable. colly.com/journal/pari...

You are up to date.
