good morning fellow Toronto's please don't let us be mayored by a guy named Brad Bradford. A dud with a dangerous desire for power who would destroy this city from within. Olivia Chow is not a perfect mayor, but she's a damn sight better than anyone else on the ballot, and we can't backslide now.

People are celebrating the Dodgers being swept like it’s the end of World War 2, it’s nice that there are events that can still bring us all together as a people.

As a reminder, the entire reason this specific bike lane is somehow under the purview of the Provincial Government is because our moron Premier has to pass it on his way to his job (on the rare days he goes to work) and the sight of a cyclist passing his SUV in traffic makes his blood BOIL

Every anti-cyclist Red Pill moment is just "I saw a cyclist moving faster than car traffic, thus proving the argument that bike lanes are efficient at moving people and reducing car gridlock. This infuriated me."

Some construction crews did show up at Bloor and Green Lanes, but they just left. We still need to stay vigilant and call out ATS Traffic for their role in endangering those who bike. #BikeTO #TOpoli #ONpoli #VisionZero

Every Brad Bradford endorsement is like, "Toronto used to be a utopia with zero problems. Now it is only fit for the most violent of rats, where sentient crack pipes murder you in dark alleys and feral child gangs feast on the Lululemons of my yoga mom group. Brad will fix this. I live in Whitby."

I had a theory NXT didn’t do anything special Tuesday cause they knew they would win the ratings no matter what, for various reasons, and they’d like the optics of a basic show beating a stacked PPV level card.

These bus lanes, and the recent opening of the Scarborough Busway, are the only things that make transit within Scarborough a viable option for the many people who don’t own a car here. Can’t tell if BradBrad is really this cynical or just an idiot.

Isaac Callan@isaaccallan.bsky.social

Brad Bradford in Scarborough talking about transit, arguing Olivia Chow prioritized a waterfront LRT instead of Eglinton East LRT. Promises he would work to remove priority bus lanes on local roads including Kingston, Morningside & Midland. Would keep on Eglinton. #ToPoli

#Thread 🧵: Now that there's no more risk of it causing any harm to PAC and WWE is trying to exploit his death solely for the purposes of wrestling war bullshit, everyone needs to know the extent to which WWE ratfucked PAC in 2018-2019 to try to destroy his livelihood by fucking with his work visa.

David BASTARDspan@davidbix.com

Since WWE's trying to exploit PAC's death, it's time to talk about this: Remember how PAC suddenly had visa issues when AEW started? That's because, when the AEW trademarks were filed, WWE called USCIS to claim he walked out on his visa. After leaving him alone for a year and giving him his release.

This Blue Jays season has been one of the strangest I can remember for any team I’ve been a fan of. Injuries have played a role, but the lack of offence throughout the season is unreal.

the right wing's ideal vision of the city is a sterile mall patrolled by security guards to keep out the riffraff, navigable only by car, and solely containing recognizable branded dining/shopping experiences

the right despises cities because they produce understanding. dense urban areas necessarily expose people to difference. insofar as the right wants to enjoy the bounty or convenience offered by the city, they want to be ushered to and from their destination in the safety of a car

it rocks that conservatives at the regional and federal levels are so intent on interfering with cities governing themselves in ways that make them more livable (e.g. bike lanes, congestion charges, mass transit)

My Hot Take is most small business owners don’t care how bad this looks, and they’ll never realize if it potentially drives away business. They’ve always wanted signage to be made quickly and cheaply without much effort and this achieves it.

It's interesting. Earlier in the verdict they say the court has no interest if bike lanes are good or bad, etc, but here they are making a value judgement based on....their own bad common sense

ℳatt@matttomic.bsky.social

The judge's ruling cites "common sense" as the reason that adding more lanes eases congestion IT DOESN'T!! THERE'S AN ENTIRE FIELD OF STUDY AROUND THIS VERY TOPIC!! WE'VE KNOWN ABOUT THIS SINCE, LIKE, THE 1960s!!

Oh this ruling is a total shitshow.

ℳatt@matttomic.bsky.social

The judge notes that Dr. Saxe explained Induced Demand to them, notes that Induced Demand is "a THEORY" (very "THEORY of evolution" opponent language), and then makes up his own statement about the "obvious logical connection between the number of lanes on a road and the volume of traffic"

Bradford also does the bike-lanes-belong-on-side-streets thing. Would be great if proponents of this kind of thinking could show us a map. Which streets? How do they lead to a cycling network that’s actually useful? Aren’t a lot of the places that cyclists want to get to on main streets?

The most disingenuous and cynical politician in the province, at least Ford is up front about who he hates and wants to leave worse off with his policies.

Mayoral candidate Brad Bradford makes it official: he’d remove the Bloor West bike lanes if he wins in October.
