It is absolutely insane that we will build this nonsense before we even consider extending the Metro or running a light rail line out here

I shouldn’t have to tell you there are adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities who may still want to enjoy Halloween festivities.

Jay Z is literally the psyop everyone's been looking for. The NFL owners literally colluded to ban Kap for kneeling during the anthem to protest police brutality & racial inequality, and after ppl started boycotting, they hired Jay Z to run the halftime show and he dissed Kap in a freestyle. 😆😆😆💀

People abroad don't understand the level of interference Meta & bots had in these elections. 5 days before the election a far-right politician posted a fake news video that got 157 MILLION views on Instagram in 24hs. For reference, GTA 6's reveal trailer got 90 million views on YouTube in 24hs.

Here is an example of how effective this campaign was on educating people about the social media algorithm. The account in the print is not related to Janones, but it is following what he taught us over the past 2 weeks. Only two weeks. Organizing online is key. Translation in the ALT

After the first round elections, Congressman André Janones created a WhatsApp channel titled “Lula’s Army.” It ballooned to 10 million people following his commands on how to behave online to counteract Meta’s far-right-favouring algorithms. The right knows how to use socials. We must learn, too.

“It must be remembered that the white group of laborers, while they received a low wage, were compensated in part by a sort of public and psychological wage.” — W.E.B. Du Bois, Black Reconstruction in America (1935)

Upton Sinclair noted, “It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding it.” But Du Bois offers a more penetrating explanation: a man might even sacrifice his material wages to preserve the “public and psychological wage” of whiteness.

The Bolsonarists didn't change their minds, they didn't suddenly stop believing that their man could do no wrong and that Lula was an existential threat to Brazil. They were simply outvoted by those who refused to risk a return to fascism, and decided not to sit this election out.

Bolsonaro had corrupt media on his side, Meta interference on his side, US propaganda operations, and his party's officials actively sabotaging public transport in Lula strongholds to prevent turnout. Yet he was still beaten by the power of voter turnout.

It's really important to pay attention to the fact that Lula beat the fascist candidate not by compromising and trying to meet fascist voters in the middle, but by sticking to his guns, promising prosecutions for election interference, and mobilising his own voters to turn out in greater numbers.

Brazil was of two huge election results today—alongside the defeat of the nationalist, authoritarian leader of Serbia: "the slate of candidates selected by protesting students had won at least 135 seats in Serbia’s 250-member legislature" www.nytimes.com/2026/10/25/w...
