It's really important to pay attention to the fact that Lula beat the fascist candidate not by compromising and trying to meet fascist voters in the middle, but by sticking to his guns, promising prosecutions for election interference, and mobilising his own voters to turn out in greater numbers.
AI perhaps offers us a really great opportunity if we choose to take it. The one thing it produces is cliche. In order to resist it, we must declare a war on cliche. We must make our language and remake it. Our visual imagination should be shaken up and strive for the shock of the new.
with all respect: i'm losing touch with what AI does because i have no interest in it and it's not my business. nobody worries about me losing touch with developments in particle physics or artificial bull insemination. it's not my fault the richest guys on earth want me to make their toy my life
feels like there is a group of smart and well-intentioned people who long ago made up their minds that AI Is Bad, swore off using it, and now get all their info about AI from each other. not saying they're wrong that ai is bad! but i think they're gradually losing touch with what it is and does
Do the mice in the cocaine pellet torture traps ever go I gotta chill tonight bud? Did the others ever pressure one into having a little taste? Did they ever judge the mice whom they loved at the time for never chipping in on the bag and did they ever forgive themselves for that twenty years later?
They want people to believe disk encryption and end-to-end encryption messaging don't work. They simultaneously claim not having mandatory backdoors prevents doing their jobs. They never had a near equivalent to mind reading before but now somehow private thoughts and conversations are unacceptable.
Was walking past this building and through the window saw this backrooms-ass room, so I accidentally took the coolest picture ever due to the window's reflection
@upperdeckent.bsky.social I didn't see this closely enough when I redeemed these from your US Weekly set, but I just needed to point out the design QA on the Alaska card leaves a little to be desired. "Fairbanks" got done pretty dirty here. I'm not mad, just think somebody needs to point this out!
I'm watching TV with the volume on high enough that you can hear sound but not enough to understand the words, & one of the announcers of the baseball game I'm watching said something that to my ears sounded like "Throaty Burrito", so now I am whispering that repetitively out loud as a vocal stim.
Went to my first actual DSA meeting the other week and think I'll probably be doing that again. Felt good to do literally anything at all more than doing nothing about "All Of This."
FIFA has a funny set-up where every country gets exactly one vote which means small countries are way overrepresented and you can hang on to power by promising little giveaways to those countries and their reps.
Thankfully no similar system exists in the United States government, that would be bad
Being on TV used to mean something. Nowadays I feel like anybody can be on TV. I'm watching like, channel 3125, and it's just some really normal dudes who like to surf talking about how much they love to surf. It's a whole show.
the key to understanding the rich pricks fretting about the left destroying 'the democratic party' is that when they say 'the democratic party' they mean their gentleman's club. that's where they go to do insider trading & extort the elderly with scam texts. you're not allowed in there
May not look like it but this is a coverup. They’re trying to lay it all on one prosecutor and keep higher-ups at DOJ out. And also trying to get judges to keep giving them the presumption of regularity.
U.S. Attorney Andrew Boutros announced plans to review nearly 20 years of grand jury proceedings involving the prosecutor at the center of the tainted “Broadview 6” case as he moved to permanently drop charges in another matter.

Michigan Governor caught on hot mic with Oracle CEO Clay Magouyrk, discussing citizen opposition to AI data centers, bragging how she ignores their concerns: “We’re used to people saying 'f*ck no,' & doing it anyway.”🇺🇸
Half of America think every time a police officer shoots someone it was in cold blood & any reason they had to do so was manufactured after the shooting, & the other half of America think that if you walk in on a cop fucking your wife, you should solemnly thank them for defending your freedom.
