The American people have been raped for years by the auto industry selling crappy cars for inflated prices ( a car now cost more then my first house), pocketing the profits instead of investing in their business, now the fear the free market where someone has a better product at a fair price.

The American auto industry is shit. I bought an EV two weeks ago. There were no appealing American options in the segment I was shopping- small sedan or crossover, AWD, 225+ mile range. Was looking for a few years old, low miles, under $25k. Kia, Hyundai, and Polestar all had potential winners.

Counterpoint: Letting 80,000 Chinese EVs into a nation that buys about 2 MILLION vehicles/year should be easy to navigate for a company like GM. Maybe quit whining and put some of the >$10 billion Canadian taxpayers bailed you out with to figure out how to make some EVs people actually want to buy.

GM charges $15 a month for me to be able to remote start my truck with a phone app, so maybe some extra competition is a good thing...
