Who do we talk to at Apple about this: You own a TV show or a movie that you bought from Apple, playing it on an Apple TV box. When the episode or movie is almost done the TV show or movie SHRINKS TO THE CORNER OF THE SCREEN — WE DON’T WANT THAT TO HAPPEN on stuff that we have purchased EVER EVER

This is very dumb, but if you start the movie from the Home Screen of the Apple TV app, it minimizes the credits for whatever recommended program it serves you. *However*, if you start the movie from the library page in the Apple TV app, it does not. Again, very dumb, but there is a workaround.

I hate it for streaming services too but when you do it with purchases, I feel like that crosses a line.

It annoys me anywhere. I’m not sure I understand the difference between purchased and streamed stuff; it would bother me more if the user experience was inconsistent. If it’s reliably one way or the other I at *least* know to prepare for it. But truncating anything is a line already crossed, imo.

Honestly I feel like the only way to truly exert ownership over this stuff is to buy it, rip it, and host it on your own media server customized to your preferences. The digital “buying” experience is just going to keep degrading with every corporate merger and attempt to make the user the product

I complained to a free public streamer and was told that it was ‘industry practice’ And they do it to promote other films that they stream, which can found via their catalogue
