This explains so much about why I am more into agentic coding than some of my coworkers

If you're expert enough at something, and a current project is scoped such that all tasks require your expertise, then stuff like that can for sure happen. The expert will get to the solution faster. The scutwork is trivial and it's more effort than it's worth to delegate to and manage the agents.

it nails functioning code effortlessly. i have a couple skills to encourage good design, but it’s really not much occasionally have an agent critique and refactor, but that’s automated too

as someone whose main job (security engineer) is not to write code, but who writes relatively simple code to make my team's collective life easier, one of the nice things about AI is that I can just tell it to write code for me while I go do other things

Do they call it verbal when it's a written test? (I'm not in SAT land, and haven't looked at it since 2013)
