Post

That won’t fully happen until the older generation passes.

So very very much. Unbelievable that no one came up with something in all these years while Facebook steadily turned into the complete hell hole it is now.

Agreed. Still need to find a replacement for very local groups and huge, international groups.

I’m down to use this poorly named platform.

Flashes sounds like a wonderful idea!!!

Bluesky is a clear replica of Twitter, it has the Twitter UI. Looking through my Bluesky feed it is still very text-heavy. A dedicated Photo View would be nice.

They're both on the same protocol. A Flash post could show up in your bluesky feed, and vice versa for an image bsky post

VERO is really good for photos

that always strikes me as odd too but I is an old now I suppose there is a large market of people not interested in reading who just want to 'oooo' and 'ahhhh' things?

If tiktok does actually get banned I'd rather bluesky add a feature like tiktok.

👍🏾👍🏿👍👍🏼👍🏻👍🏽

These names make me feel like this is all a big setup

👀

that’s my exact style

Dan Flashes?

okay now we need short video creation 😊

I have been liking pixelfed

Depends on what your insta experience looked like. If it was just to look at or share photos then pretty much yeah.

A bluesky Instagram... I'm in... I jump of meta immediately

Great!

I would LOVE an edit button!!!!

And a 'remove follower' feature.

Nice!

I have no power here, but I will declare right here and now: "They damned well better be!"

I want to get away from meta so we need a new platform

We have Pixelfed already. I don't want a social media account to try and do everything badly.

Sweet. I can’t delete instagram fast enough.

Can we get a Facebook type platform too? I need something like it to use with my art clientele

Yes, what the heck happened to Vine?

Good news. Mark Cuban said he wants to a fund a vertical video app based at ATproto. There’s a very sparse vert video app based on ActivityPub out now if you’re interested. Lookup Loops.

I. Can't. Wait.

That's great news for someone like me who has just quit Insta

Omg!!! This makes me so happy! Sign me up. I’ve been using Facebook as a scrapbook for my granddaughter but can’t stand Facebook! I’ll leave in a heartbeat!

Can we share pictures in private chats???

Cool!

This app is not taking off. I post content and little engagement

So this is sort of a tik tok for Bluesky?

Can't wait for the Bluesky egirls to post some flashes.

Yay!!

Can’t wait!

Hopefully it will come true and become the new Instagram...

Could just be the new description for when celebs break down on social media. “He had a Hot Flash moment.” 😂. He needs to simma down!

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

@peabea.bsky.social @jgarde.bsky.social We can go back to our memes!

This is so good

Actually, it sounds like this developer isn’t using federation at all. Just filtering out text based posts from Bluesky. That’s kind of lame.

It's separate from skeets.

OK COOL NOW WHEN AM I GOING TO BE ABLE TO UPLOAD MP3 FILES

People are simple bitches.

for DM's probably

Okay, that's interesting. Might try it out. What's the link for it?

Keep ‘em coming! 👏🏼

This is great news. #followme #follow

We need an edit post capability on Bluesky.

Flashes is a very aggressive app. I mean, you walk by an app and you see 50 guys who look just like me fighting over very complicated shirts, you download it. Yes, you do. You go in.

@chrismalikoff.bsky.social

Is this vines?

Looking forward to this. I hope there'll will be an option to transfer my posts/pictures from Ig automatically, so I can leave Meta behind once and for all 😍

💯%

Yay! I want to get away from Meta entirely but none of the Instagram download solutions give me enough functionality to retain my memories in the way I need.

Can't wait!!! To get off Insta forever. 🙃🥂

What about @fotoapp.co? My most promising future candidate...

Looking for a developer whom we can partner with. I have an idea.

So lefties can steal my pictures?

Blue Darts???

i cant fuckin wait!

Hello ❤️

Good. Two things I miss about Facebook are the fact that real-life friends have been abandoned, (I know no one personally in here), and the chance to share my photos in a good format. Nowt to be done about the former without getting people to defect, but if this addresses the latter issue, great.

Why?

Let’s gooooo

Consensually right? Right?

Sounds awful

Wish I understood all the hi tech gobbledygook, but I'm not up to it. Hopefully I will get it eventually.

I can't wait to post all my Hot Flashes, as a recently menopausal artist 🤣

Pass

😍

Woohoo! I get to flash people!

Someone didn't think this through.

Well I'm interested

Nonstop kitty pictures!

Whichever is best

Now all we need is a FB marketplace replacement

Yay!!!

Hells no... it's all scammers and porn bots

Took me a sec to get the joke lmao

@joshvogt.bsky.social the near future is now 📸

Yay. I like it

Anything to stick it to Meta is fine by me 👌

Ooh a play on words with camera flashes but this is so exciting! 😭 I really want to dump all Meta apps 🙏🏼🧡

…I’ll get my Mac.

Direct message groups #dmGroups is what I miss most from ‘the other place’.

📌

It’s an interesting idea to have different clients on top of bsky, having that type of assymetric interaction though might be a problem, the neta data idea has to be in from the start

Sounds interesting!

🏁🏁🏁

Will it allow users to limit who can see the photos?

OBSESSED ALREADY

From a platform that already has a reputation for nonces, now you can flash people as well? I guess 'flashing' doesn't have the same double entendre potential in US English as in other English-speaking countries?

...Ya might wanna re-think that name.

i'd rather go back to friendster

Yay

Based on some of the photos I've seen on BlueSky ... I'd suggest they select a different name.

@henkgusta.bsky.social será q esse vai vingar?
