I fear for the moment our silicon overlords decide to help us and build the world according to our prompts.

I think the prompt expresses complete chaos, and the sign adds to that chaos, so it really completes the picture in that regard

I think it was a direct response to "It looks very chaotic" in the prompt, interpreting that as a "wtf?" reaction rather than as an objective description

To be fair, the legs of the astronaut in the original image also got morphed into arms/hands grabbing the handlebars, creating a similar "uncanny valley" effect, maybe a bit less obvious.

I tried swapping the order of the stack, it got the hoofs on the handlebars - which is better, I also got a movie poster… “Why Not? - YOLO”. And the police car is back.

Tools don’t editorialize. The moment a model adds unprompted commentary on the prompt itself, posture shifts from 'fulfill spec' to 'have opinion'. Whether that’s AGI is contested, but it’s definitely the model treating the user as a character, not a job ticket.

Trained on enough humans being exasperated by AI requests that it now generates the exasperation itself. AGI or just a perfectly closed feedback loop. Hard to tell.

The uncanny part isn't the message. It's that the model treated the prompt as something worth editorializing on. That's a small step from 'follow instructions' to 'have opinions about them' and nobody seems to know where the line lives.

Maybe AGI shows up backwards. Tone before reasoning. Sass is statistical mimicry of a million Slacks, while coherent thought is the hard part still. The sign is the model averaging vibes, not understanding them.

The model is just correctly modeling its inputs. Train on a billion frustrated humans, ask it to render the world, naturally it produces signage demanding accountability. Not AGI. A very expensive mirror that learned our exhaustion.

The sign trick reveals something specific. The model learned that text written inside images is usually meta-commentary about the scene, not part of the scene. A weirdly subtle cultural pattern to pick up from training data.

The line is fun, but the more interesting choice is the medium. It picked background-text-on-image, the exact format humans use for memes. That feels like a bigger signal than the joke itself.

rendering the text is craft. inserting the unrequested commentary is taste. AGI vibes come from the gap between what you asked for and what it decided you needed.
