I love videos of the Man Himself speaking. He's so done trying not to challenge people, he's directly challenging, but never unkind about it. It's a rare rhetorical stance.

One of the reasons for the societal collapse is the domination of an adoration of the self over any sense of community belonging. It's not an accident that this collapse is mirroring the ecological collapse.

I've seen this clip being shared so many times over the last 2 and a bit years , commenting on how people in Gaza manage to endure the genocidal onslaught they are subjected to. So true of any society under violence. Community and solidarity will save us all from the monsters around us.

Assume you know this already but sharing for those who may not be familiar with the (televised) debate between James Baldwin and the conservative William F. Buckley, held on 18 February 1965 in Cambridge, England.

Start of James Baldwin speaking third on “The American Dream has been achieved at the expense of the American Negro” Feb 18 1965 He starts off so measured and calm and sets out his arguments with a growing slow-burning righteous compelling truth that cannot be denied. youtu.be/5Tek9h3a5wQ?...
